Re: Flamingo (Workbench) discussion thread

.. asking if it is possible to edit the profiles using LibreOffice E.g. Particularly the pipe definitions. Manufacturers in our part of the world have somewhat different standards and it would be great to create Australian standard parts/profiles and contribute to the dodo workbench in that manner....

Re: Flamingo & Dodo workbench(s) discussion thread

Hi @balrobs, I was hovering around after long time in the forum and since your on-line I'd like to answer about the beams rotation issue. Bear in mind that when you make a structure based on a sketch or DWire, the beams are linked rigidly to the underneath geometry of the line. Thus if you rotate th...

Re: Flamingo & Dodo workbench(s) discussion thread

Hello to All These days I worked a bit with the workbench. I found a problem with the "Insert elbow" dialog. [..] It happened a few times, that if I use the "Insert Elbow" dialog to trim pipe to a elbow, the wrong side of the pipe was trimmed and I found no possibility to trim the other side of the...

Re: 2D structures basic calculations

@vocx. Up to now I don't want to include this stuff in the workbench because it relies on an optional python module which is not within the package of FC. I made something similar before to compute pressure losses in pipes with the modules "fluids" and "thermo" but since the project of FC progress q...

Re: 2D structures basic calculations

Hi, there. I made a little step ahead with anastruct creating a macro which takes the structure from the FreeCAD document and solve it with anastruct. Below a short gallery with an example. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/oddtopus/macros/master/anastruct_fc/screenshot1.png https://raw.githubuserco...

Re: BIM/Dodo Framing Questions/Steel Sections

Hi @Maarten, I took some time to investigate this issue and the difference between objetcs Structure in FC and how beams are drawn in Revit. I found somewhat clarifying this . 1) Are these extra profiles useful in the arch-workbench(of dodo workbench)? Sure they are useful! 4) Are there more people ...

Re: Flamingo & Dodo workbench(s) discussion thread

Little update about the profile editor: now the dialog and its features are complete and looks like this: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/oddtopus/macros/master/sections/dialogSect.png I deem the tool quite usefull in general, so I also made a standalone version (maybe not fully up-to-date) that c...
