Re: tutorial introducing Dodo

for non-standard shape or sketch it seems program not behave as expectation like this image: Hi, if I remember well, when you make a custom profile, two things affect the beam position and orientation: where you draw the shape respect to the origin, because center-line of the beam is the origin of ...

Re: Dodo Workbench Tutorial by Bugman

Hi @Laurie Hartley and @Kunda1. I stepped in this post few weeks ago and the video of Bugman made me realize that in Dodo was still missing a tool to make cylindrical tanks as quickly as rectangular ones. That inspired me to add another little tool (command "Connect to header": little hack of the "C...

Re: Flamingo & Dodo workbench(s) discussion thread

Hi there! I'm very new in Freecad. I would like to ask about Dodo WB. I have a problem with joining of edges of the beams. When I made the beams over the sketch lines, the leading lines are in the center of the beems. When I join the edges, the guidelines is not in the in the center already. Then I...

Re: Flamingo (Workbench) discussion thread

.. asking if it is possible to edit the profiles using LibreOffice E.g. Particularly the pipe definitions. Manufacturers in our part of the world have somewhat different standards and it would be great to create Australian standard parts/profiles and contribute to the dodo workbench in that manner....

Re: Flamingo & Dodo workbench(s) discussion thread

Hi @balrobs, I was hovering around after long time in the forum and since your on-line I'd like to answer about the beams rotation issue. Bear in mind that when you make a structure based on a sketch or DWire, the beams are linked rigidly to the underneath geometry of the line. Thus if you rotate th...

Re: Flamingo & Dodo workbench(s) discussion thread

Hello to All These days I worked a bit with the workbench. I found a problem with the "Insert elbow" dialog. [..] It happened a few times, that if I use the "Insert Elbow" dialog to trim pipe to a elbow, the wrong side of the pipe was trimmed and I found no possibility to trim the other side of the...

Re: 2D structures basic calculations

@vocx. Up to now I don't want to include this stuff in the workbench because it relies on an optional python module which is not within the package of FC. I made something similar before to compute pressure losses in pipes with the modules "fluids" and "thermo" but since the project of FC progress q...

Re: 2D structures basic calculations

Hi, there. I made a little step ahead with anastruct creating a macro which takes the structure from the FreeCAD document and solve it with anastruct. Below a short gallery with an example. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/oddtopus/macros/master/anastruct_fc/screenshot1.png https://raw.githubuserco...

Re: BIM/Dodo Framing Questions/Steel Sections

Now I found also this about structural nodes: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 9&start=10

The post is quite old and I do not find any related command in the gui. Are there any other updates on this subject?
