Re: 0003466: Control objects visibility via expressions and spreadsheets cells

Hello Eivind, [...] Visibility is selected by a property in the document object's gui part, and expressions are not supported for any of these properties (internally they only work for objects derived from the DocumentObject class). IIRC there was a technical reason for this, so this is not easy to ...

0003466: Control objects visibility via expressions and spreadsheets cells

Hi This would be valuable in many cases as witnessed by users interest in the following threads: * https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18681 * https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=18065 EDIT: forgot link to issue https://freecadweb.org/tracker/view.php?id=3466 AFAIC, in a w...

Re: Boolean operations across Part containers

Ah I see. My use case is cutting holes in an enclosure based on the parts that are in the assembly. I found this really nice macro , but it becomes difficult to use with Parts containers. Is there a way to group several objects to be moved together, without using the Part container? Make a compound...

Re: Bounding box driven parametric design for woodworkers/cabinet makers, and the others

If you use only planar faces for your cabinets it should be possible to create a datamodel of all faces, edges, vertexes with the topological properties and relations. https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=25092 the next step can be a list of constraints between related subobjects. Thank ...

Bounding box/Spaces driven parametric design for woodworkers/cabinet makers, and the others

Hi, Still looking for an improved/the best cabinet design methodology, I'm know thinking (inspired by other specialized softwares, I must admit !) it would be nice to have a kind of bounding box driven design system like in: * draw a box (Arch Space, I'm looking at you !) * select the box and run co...

Re: Hard time creating a Detail View

The thing is that the detail viewport is not visible at view creation and on ly appears when moved (not even resized), seems it's what lost me on first try. I get the circle on the source view right away, unless there is nothing visible in the detail. I guess DVDetail should update the Source view ...

Re: Hard time creating a Detail View

Hi, The cryptic error messages are trying to say that there is nothing in the detail view. It doesn't have anything to do with what you selected. With the default values of radius=10 and anchor = (0,0) the detail viewport is right in the middle of the central "hole" in the sketch. If you shift the v...
