ifc sql

Hi
Does anybody know of an implementation using a 'standard' SQL database (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB) for manipulating ifc files?
If not, does anybody know a ifc UML or layout for storing ifc files in a SQL database?

Re: IFC import

This is an old problem... Works on windows,
On Ubuntu based machines all ifc files cause the system to hang on import, this goes for both files exported from freecad and from others..
Looks very similar to https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=32158

Re: UTF issue with ifc import

At least to others have reported similar issue.
It looks to me like the only common denominator is various versions of Ubuntu.

Re: Draft Upgrade function does not seem to work at all.

Looks like Snap settings is one of the areas where new users get lost. Have been there  Some of us should probably make some examples on Snapping, also examples where snap settings are contradicting one and other. It is basically simple logic, but not so easy to catch when new to fc. BTW 01 A ...

Re: Community Extras PPA Announcement & Support Thread: IfcOpenShell, Gmsh 4, freecad-doc translations & more!

The size limit for the PPA has been increased. The experimental freecad-doc package is now also available on Ubuntu 16.04. About ifcopenshell: With extra ppa, Still hangs computer on import to freecad Believe it is related to string function and UTF8 compatibility with Python 2.7. Problem is probab...

Re: dwire vs wire

The differences I have found are:
Wire is not easily editable
Wire extrudes in a predictable way

dwire is easily editable
dwire does not extrude easily in a predictable way (if created on a plane other than XY)

Q) Why do we have the two entity types wire and dwire. Are they not basically the same?

request dwire aligned to active drafting plane

With reference to post https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=31485 Is this a bug? A dwire created on a plane other then XY, will still have its Normal in global Z direction. Dropping the dwire to a wire, the resulting wire will have its Normal relative to the plane the dwire was created o...
