Re: Coplanar issues again?

FreeCAD doesn't work algebraically, but calculates the models with the limited - yet very high - precision of the computer's internal representation of floating point calculations. An additional step can create additional rounding errors, which are in this case for the good by eliminating the copla...

Lifting Sketch002 by 0.1nm in z fixes the issue too. So I think you can change the question mark to an exclamation.
I gathered as much. Any idea then why in my third screenshot this coplanar problem does NOT appear? Because I don't see the logic, if there is any.

Re: Coplanar issues again?

Thanks for the pics, but it's hard to diagnose problems without a file (and version info.) Sure. Though I guess I wasn't so much looking for a diagnosis, but rather for some guidelines. But here it is: OS: Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS (XFCE/xubuntu) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Versio...

Coplanar issues again?

OK, so I'm playing with FreeCAD once more, making models of hand wheels this time (imagine those cast iron hand wheels such as can be found on old machinery). Here's a simple design that consists of the round part and two profiles that will become the spokes: Schermafdruk_2021-01-21_19-22-08.png But...

Re: Part Design: setting the colour of faces programmatically?

Hello and thank you, Suzanne, for your reply. I was trying out your code: You could set the color of the individual faces like shown here https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?t=7125 def makeColor(i, faces): return ((i+1)*1.0/faces, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0) fillet = App.ActiveDocument.Fillet faces = fill...

Part Design: setting the colour of faces programmatically?

OK, so I guess I initially posted this in the wrong subforum. By rightclicking on the most recent object under a body, you can select "Set colors..." from the context menu and select faces in the body that you want to give a specific colour. However it can be very tedious work to select them all man...

Re: FreeCAD menus invisible in Chromecast session

Great feedback. It good that you post these observations. It may lead to possibly opening up an upstream Qt bug report. It would be great if someone else with a similiar setup + chromecast could try to recreate. I was finally able to try again today and lo - the problem was gone. What or who fixed ...

Off-topic, but we hope to increase the upload limit at some point.
That would be lovely.

We do need some phpbb help if anyone is interested?
