Re: New Sublink Link Feature

I do not recommend using SubLink for modeling at the moment. Because it reuses the topo index of the linked sub-element. For example, if you link to Fuse.Face2, then you'll see Link.Face2, and if the face index changes in fuse, you'll suffer just the same. In fact, it will be worse, because now you ...

Re: finding the App::Link of a selected object

Now, I have selected, in the assembly window, the LCS_1 belonging to myLink_2. I am able to retrieve that it (the selected LCS_1) belongs to myPart, but what I would need to know is that I have selected the LCS_1 the belongs to the instance myLink_2 of myPart. @alonso_jamm is right. Use Gui.Selecti...

Re: finding the App::Link of a selected object

I know how to get the App::Part containing the Body LCS , but I need the particular App::Link that points to the App::Part. If I get the Name or the object itself doesn't matter. But there can be several other instances of the same App::Part. Here is some code based on your description above. Assum...

Re: finding the App::Link of a selected object

If you want it for coding, there is App.getLinksTo(). Check the python docstring for more info.

If you want it as a command

Re: Dedicated Spreadsheet Workbench Maintainer/Devs needed

I'm — obviously — a big fan of the ExpressionEngine, but I'm not sure I find this automagic thing very good: it's confusing and error prone, I had some trouble to debug an expression because of this. I think that the parser should parse, but not make decisions, and if there is a problem because the...

Re: Dedicated Spreadsheet Workbench Maintainer/Devs needed

3696 also seems to be a duplicate of the "Expression can't contain space" error. I've revived an old thread This is not a bug in expression parser. It is by design. You probably already know this, but there are two types of 'names' with FreeCAD objects (DocumentObject and Document itself). There is...

Re: [Bug?] Placement issue when saving STP file imported with Link options

PR submitted here :+1: Could you give a clue about what kind of link is the "Product" (root object) one in the file I posted ? I can't figure out how to manually create it (I used a STEP import as base). ;) Thx. I have changed back to use App::Part as the default STEP import container in some pendi...
