Re: App::Link: the big merge

I know that i have unusal settings. Because the preselection in the 3D view FreeCAD always calculates the coordinates of the cursor. And on (larger) assemblies the CPU struggles with that. When i switch off the preselection, FreeCAD runs on my laptop with larger assemblies (100 parts) quite fluentl...

Re: Assembly3 preview

congratulation on getting Link merged, i guess you still have a lot of work to do before the Link merge sinks in among the developers, what is the plan for toponaming? will you wait until 0.20 to make a PR? how big do you think toponaming PR will be? I plan to submit the version control related pat...

Re: App::Link: the big merge

Sure! Finally, I can reproduce your problem. It only happens with some unusual settings. You disabled preselection in 3D view, but still enabled preselection in treeview. This is now fixed. The renaming problem is because you enabled both TreeView and ComboView, so there are actually two tree views...

Re: App::Link: the big merge

The behavior with the rename thing (click two times and then press F2) on my other machine the same. Can you please provide a screencast showing the steps to reproduce this problem? The highlight error is definitive from the Enable preselection highlighting setting. For me it is by default disabled...

Re: I'm working on TempoVis upgrade (visibility automation)

Here is a summary of my modification: * Link introduces some new types of group. The major difference comparing to existing group is that the children visibility information is stored inside the group. I added a few APIs to DocumentObject to expose this information, hasChildElement, is/setElementVis...

Re: App::Link: the big merge

While playing with the branch I did not really understand the purpose of the LinkGroup. Could you explain what the benefit of this object is compared to a simple combination of App::Part+App::Link and what use cases you support with that? There is not many code that is dedicated to LinkGroup, it's ...

Re: App::Link: the big merge

If you are willing to stay tuned and help fixing the problems as they appear @realthunder, for me we can do the merge. Sure, I am always there. Maybe you can provide some details about the problem you have encountered, like attach a IFC export showing the problem? And don't forget to post your buil...

Re: App::Link: the big merge

I have to look at the code again and check what exactly makes the order criterion. Like I mentioned in the previous post, the property groups are always sorted by the group name. But there is is a differences in the property order in object and view properties. The code responsible of this differen...

Re: App::Link: the big merge

There are groups of properties, which are intended for functional grouping. What I meant is to sort the properties by name within the same group. OK, this makes more sense. But when you work a lot with properties (like me), it is very unhandy always to expand the groups in the property tab. If ther...

Re: App::Link: the big merge

The one continuity issue, i wrote before (this is no stumbling block, only a suggestion): When i place an array or make a group with links, then the original object raises in its origin and you do not see (at a glance) from where are the links, while working on a larger file. For parts and bodies t...
