Is it possible in Assembly3 to keep records of details, as is done in a2+?
You mean a BOM list? This can be done using a spreadsheet, which is much more powerful in my fork than in the upstream. I can include some templates in asm3 in the future. You can checkout the demonstration here.

Re: Ticket #3932 - Selecting solids on interior of CompSolid

Most likely too late for 0.19. Please, give it a try. We are waiting for this feature for several years now, and it is essential for more complex 3D simulation models. Thanks in advance, HoWil Unfortunately, it does involve a big PR which I submitted over six months ago. I have since splitted that ...

Wow.
Is this in your ASM3 app-image or already in master?
I am eager to test this. :)
In my image only for now. Most likely too late for 0.19.

Re: Ticket #3932 - Selecting solids on interior of CompSolid

A innner solid inside a inner solid is still missing in the example ... So, whom can we ask for help? Realthunder should be able to solve this? Or do we nee Werner? I have already implemented this. The core will have support of selecting all types of high level geometries. compsolid-pick.gif

Hi @realthunder,

I think I found some an issue with your latest AppImage.

*When I try to use the mesh workbench and try to convert a solid to mesh, it gives me the following error:
Image updated. The problem should be fixed.

Re: shadows in the freecad viewport

Image updated. Fixed a few spot light settings. The cut off angle previously uses radian instead of degree. Drop off rate can now be negative, which will make the spotlight a special non attenuating 'directional spotlight'. Note that the drop off rate attenuates the light intensity with exponential ...

Re: shadows in the freecad viewport

Can you guys try the spot light with 'DropOffRate' and 'CutOffAngle' settings? Any effect? I managed to make them work on my computer but requires yet another patch to Coin3D. It seems to be crippled by some graphics driver bug in updating shader predefined variables. Not sure if it is specific to m...

Does this also work with Text-Documents (Tools->Add text document) or spreadsheets?
For non 3d view, the overlayed dock widget will auto hide itself. Move mouse to the edge to bring it back.

Re: shadows in the freecad viewport

At least on that model I get a big performance difference in frame rate between regular and spotlight. Usually the spotlight is 10x faster than regular light. I get around 3 to 10 fps when navigating the 3d viewport when using the regular light whereas I get a minimum of 30fps with the spotlight on...

Re: shadows in the freecad viewport

I think I have a new clue about this issue: the shadow is behaving as a normal "shaded face", it means it will be shaded depending on the position of light and view. The casted shadow, at least when displayed with the ground disabled, should behave as a "shadeless face". Could this be done? Cheers ...
