Re: Recompute time making it hard to work with spreadsheet

Yes, I have a working solution for this, but it is not included in that PR, as it is not related. However, the solution has potential deep impact because of some core changes on recomputation. My solution is to add new API Property::isSame() that can be overridden by derived properties for checking ...

Re: [0.20] - Eliminate PropertyType and typeless "attr" for Property

Again, sharing and not sharing is a) an implementation detail with respect to storage space and ownership, and b) proven to be a mistake by the fact that duplicate bits are now required. The FACT is, that sometimes readonly is changed, hence a duplicate bit was added. Saying (not YOU specifically) ...

Re: filllet feature was wrong after transformed

It seems to be a bug when inner and outer fillets are mixed. pinged by pinger macro If I split them in two fillets it works. I add the fixed file with only 2 legs on each side to keep the size smaller. Yes, it indeed has trouble handling feature containing both additive and subtractive shapes. I ju...

Re: PR #4074 The section cut feature

Are you talking about Part_SliceApart ? ;) No I'm talking about PartDesign/Split (only available in realthunder's fork I think). They actually share the same code. So for anyone wandering the difference, just think about Part_SliceApart and Part_Section. They have some overlap, but not exactly the ...

Re: [0.20] - Eliminate PropertyType and typeless "attr" for Property

I think you missed the fact that normal 'Property', i.e. the static property has all its meta data (i.e. PropertySpec) stored as a static data inside each defining class derived from PropertyContainer. The PropertyType served as the static property attributes that are shared by all instances of the ...

Yes, a real section operation is certainly useful in many cases. I have added a 'Wrap' feature in my branch for adding almost any non PartDesign feature to a body, which is one way of using it, but of course a native section feature will be more convenient.

Not entirely sure either. As the current PR contains code that has very limited impact to existing code, I guess just rely on the unit test?

Re: Link of Window behaving weird, has no own Hosts property

My ping for you was mostly about how the Link object was intended and what the (intended, not necessarily technical) limitations on it are. I'm not sure what you mean by the exact type of object in Python? I don't think I was commenting on doing/needing any such type checks? What part are you respo...

Re: can I work "iteratively" with the openscad workbench?

Very nice. I got it to start from Jupyter and I can control it from Jupyter. Just curious, I couldn't find the file "%init_freecad". Where is this file and what does it contain ? thanks Rand Batchelder The % marks the magic line in jupyter, which triggers some registered code in the kerne...
