Re: [LinkExtensionPython] - LinkArray of Blocks in ArchWall ?

Compound is OCCT's way to group shape instances, TopoDS_Shape to be precise, which contains a location (TopLoc_Location) and a reference to the actual shape data, which can be shared if there are multiple instances of the same shape at different location. This is as efficient as it can get to store ...

Re: [Sketcher Geometry] - Export/Import between FreeCAD and Blender

I haven't looked into the blender plugin yet, but since SolveSpace is a 2D/3D solver, have they implemented 3D sketch capability yet? That'll be very interesting. There are quite a few people wishing for 3D sketch in FreeCAD as well.

Re: [Sketcher Geometry] - Export/Import between FreeCAD and Blender

FreeCAD sketch solver is a dedicated 2D solver. I think there are quite a few constraints that has no direct mapping to SolveSpace. In other word, mapping from blender sketch to FreeCAD's should be doable, but not the other way around.

Re: [LinkExtensionPython] - LinkArray of Blocks in ArchWall ?

With current upstream, using link array for block wall property isn't a good idea. Because each block has a simple geometry. Using link array for rendering saves geometry but requires extra matrix operation for each block during rendering. It will be a good solution once the renderer taps into the p...

Re: STEP Export/Import colors override (?)

here the issue I found: 1) the transparent-shape-cube.stp file is imported and rendered as transparent object in FC, but it is displayed as solid in CADA (please note that there is a small issue in FC loading a transparent object ... the obj is loaded with its transparency value, but it is not disp...

I just found a user case that may be needs an other tweak...
I just tested these files with CADA and the PR branch, and didn't notice any problem. Have you sync the branch? Maybe can post the picture showing the problem?

Re: STEP Export/Import colors override (?)

I've added a note at the tracker: https://tracker.freecadweb.org/view.php?id=4744#c15957 it could be related to OCC release version, not to FC version ... PR submitted here . See the PR comments for more details. The PR also adds support for STEP transparency. It's a small change and somewhat relat...

Tks for your attention.

Re: FreeCAD external Python interpreter will not return body object on Ubuntu 20.04

Just to sum up for others so you dont have to read through the whole topic: I want to access a body object inside a document through FreeCADs python interface. I am importing FreeCAD in the system python interpreter. But freecad wont return the body object. Can anyone reproduce this? Maybe you know...
