Hexibase's speaker design / simulation thingy

... apparently uses FreeCAD, I wonder how he does the graphs that auto-update when editing the sketch (or maybe I'm dumb and it's a video editing trick) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY5ijVq2QzE

Re: weird rendering issue in recent development versions

- use symmetry; In this case it feels really forced, but yeah, it's a good match when appropriate - (try) do not use generated geometry as source of external geometry; agreed, when I need external geometry I try to use sketches as the source (or go through the tedium of naming constraints and using...

Re: weird rendering issue in recent development versions

@papyblaise is correct. Another way to fix this: Open sketch s_clamp. Delete Constraint25 (equal constraint). Delete the horizontal constraint attached to the same line. Apply a coincident constraint between the right vertex of the line and the right vertex of the underlying external geometry edge....

Re: weird rendering issue in recent development versions

there is coplanar between the base and the tube there is no need to make a DatumPlan you stay on the XY plane, the pipe will pass through heh, I did try that at first, saw it was doing something weird and tried to decouple them (the result was the same - a weird zero-thickness rectangle on top of t...

Re: How to cut vertically oriented "slits" on inside face of vessel

I'm not sure you understand how vase mode works: it takes a solid object and prints it hollow (I'm not sure about cura, but in slic3r and its forks - prusaslicer, superslicer, etc. - it even tells you what it does when you check the "spiral vase" checkbox Now, if you want to print a vase /...

weird rendering issue in recent development versions

so, this is a rather simple object - 2 pads on top of each other followed by other tweaks; the rendering issue is already present after the 2nd pad Snapshot_2024-03-26_18-29-09.png it is present in the exported mesh as well, but the slicer is smart enough to handle it Snapshot_2024-03-26_18-43-55.pn...

Native file dialogs on Linux (Ubuntu)

I've been using the snap edge version for the last year or two, and recently it stopped filling in the preset name for the export dialog; turns out the parameter to use the native dialog ( Preferences/Dialog/DontUseNativeDialog ) was turned on (my profile dir is ... old), but the deb version fills t...

Re: Is anyone using Arch Panel support in Path?

I've used it a long time ago for a box (more as an exercise in using something other than part design), then tried the nesting function from time to time and found it reliably broken (at least for me there wouldn't be other reasons to use arch - maybe if I start making cabinets / drawers?)

Re: Selecting multiple faces for profile operation

doesn't profile do this if you don't select anything? (if you check "process holes" it will do the holes first.then the outline)
