Part cross-section to DXF
Hi I opened a STEP file, and followed this link ( https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Part_CrossSections ) to create 2 cross-sections. Now, I would like to export to DXF. If possible I would like to avoid the requirement to now create an intermediate TechDraw object. I have experimented with Preferences Imp...

Sketcher - Symmetry --> Rectangle Dimensional Constraint error
I can't make the symmetry constraint work with a rectangle. For example Create a sketch on the XY plane Draw a rectangle Add a symmetry constraint about Y axis (click ><, then top left vertex, Y axis, top right vertex) At this stage, the sketch turns orange. I gather this indicates "over-constr...

Part Workbench: Chamfer or Fillet -> BRep_API: command not done
I'm following a tutorial here, https://data.engrie.be/FreeCAD/FreeCAD_for_beginners.pdf For the first example, I can create one fillet OK Next, when I try to add a chamfer (or another fillet) to the inside edge, the entire model disappears from view, and the error shown is BRep_API: command not done...

Re: Basic TechDraw Tutorial: Projection - 'Right' vs 'Left'
OK, thank you.
Is there a method whereby I can add a 'Tech Draw' dimension which automatically links directly to the 3D model?
From the tutorial, it takes 6 steps to add one 'linked' dimension...
Add a dimension to TechDraw projection
Iterate steps (1)..(5) as described in the tutorial

Basic TechDraw Tutorial: Projection - 'Right' vs 'Left'
When I 'check' the Secondary Projection box with the mouse-over hint "Right", this adds a projection labeled "left" to the drawing - see attached image.

Re: Cannot set the datum error - (Basic Sketcher Tutorial)
Thanks Willem ;) - How did you identify these particular constraints? I have now tried to follow this tutorial twice. The issue I come aginst is that my resulting sketch does not look exactly right. Then, when I try to adjust things, the constraints stop me doing so. Often, the sketch turns orange i...

Cannot set the datum error - (Basic Sketcher Tutorial)
I'm trying to follow this tutorial - https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Basic_Sketcher_Tutorial . At step 11 ( Set the radius to 8 mm ), I can't change any radii on the folium shape. The message dialog box reports Cannot set the datum because the sketch contains conflicting constraints . I see the shape tu...

Re: Sketcher - How do I edit arc start angle?
Useful links. I have now looked more carefully at 'polyline' (also suggested by papyblaise "4- Faire une polyligne... "), and that might be the fastest way to create this sketch "from scratch". Is that how you would draw the example sketch? i.e. Create a closed polyline (includin...

Re: Sketcher - How do I edit arc start angle?
Many thanks for the replies. I think the 'constrained fillet' method might be the most direct one here. PS: I wondered about about how the 'unconstrained' vs 'constrained' choice affects things exactly...The wiki page does not mention the 'constrained' option. I did experiment though, and it seems t...
