Re: Geometry too complicated?

They all should be fixed in latest 0.19 dev versions. Would you double check? Updated FC0.19: Sorry, error remains with test-file. Running my old steel parts works fine. done with: OS: Windows 10 (10.0) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.19.20477 (Git) Build type: Relea...

Re: Plauderecke - Thread

Re: Geometry too complicated?

@Bernd: When opening your test file and doubleclicking on mesh, the transform-tool opens (?). Creating an new mesh with gmsh gives an error. Remeshing and running with netgen works. @Michael: Meshing with netgen works. But writing the inp needs endless time, still running. Lets wait and see... :) cu...

Re: Geometry too complicated?

Do you have an idea how I could solve the problem with the self-weight boundary condition? If I remove this constraint completely, I still can't write the input file. You use 4 different materials with different densities. There should be 4 entries for self weight. I will try this tomorrow (I am wr...

Re: Geometry too complicated?

As I tried to explain above, the calculation does work if I simulate the fish tank and the sub-rack separately. The question was why it does not work together. There is a problem with the self_weight. Doubleclicking does not open dialog-window. No mesh generated. Mmmh..? self_weight.JPG meshing_gms...

Re: Geometry too complicated?

Hi Michael, as a starting point for FEM you should begin with a simple model, to get a good mesh and plausible results. In later steps you can do the refinement. When starting with the "complete problem" mostly you run into meshing problems or complicated boundary/loading-conditions. Like your subdi...

Here is an example. bimetalFEM.FCStd Load file, doubleclick on Analysis in model-tree: FEM-wb starts. doubleclick on FEMMeshGmsh in model-tree, remesh body. Run analysis. Done with OS: Windows 10 (10.0) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.19.20311 (Git) Build type: Releas...

Re: Neue Herausforderung Kreis nach Rechteck mit tangentialen Übergängen verbinden

Mit der curves-wb kann man über 2 zusätzliche Kreis-Rechteck-faces das ganze in ein
solid verwandeln. Aber wie bekomme ich es als Rohr hin? Thickness in part-wb steigt
bei mir aus (bei solid ohne Zylinder).
