Analysis of Split Collar expanded onto Shaft
Hi, Can someone please suggest a way to do this? I have a truly circular split collar (see picture) that will be expanded when it is pushed onto a slightly larger truly circular shaft. But, of course, the inner surface of the split collar won't be in contact with the shaft surface everywhere, and pe...

Re: Springback after Plastic Deformation
I would like to express my thanks to both New Joker for his very prompt reply, and to FandaL for his extremely clear step-by-step guidance.
Very helpful to me, and I trust for others too in the future.

Springback after Plastic Deformation
Hi, Could anybody give me some advice on how to do this please? I want to apply a 'deformation load' to a flat spring so that one or more areas undergo plastic deformation. Then release the spring and see its new shape after 'springback'. And then finally apply a smaller 'working' load to the 'sprin...

Re: Discussion of Polar Pattern and Linear Pattern behaviour
Hi, I first posted about this in July 2017, and then later on in January 2019. Kunda1 then opened it as issue #4048. I had a look today to see if anything had happened on this issue recently. I tried to download from issue #4048 the four Freecad files that I had uploaded in January 2019 into the bug...

Re: FreeCAD 0.20.27399 Win looks like an invalid archive
Yes, opening with 7z worked for me too. But while 7z was doing its unzipping, it indicated that there were two .dll files having the same name, and err....which of the two did I want to keep? This happened 6 or 7 times. Each time I chose the newer .dll of the two......... What I ended up with did wo...

Re: Win-Conda Weekly Builds do not seem to include FEM Workbench
Thanks looo and sgrogan for your replies. Clearly, not everyone is experiencing this problem. And, indeed, I may be the only one who is having this trouble! But it has been happening for a couple of months now, so I eventually I decided it was worth posting a message about it. As I mentioned in my f...

Re: Win-Conda Weekly Builds do not seem to include FEM Workbench
Hi looo
Thanks for your quick reply.
I've had another look, and in the Report View it adds:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<string>", line 72, in Initialize
Hope this helps.

Win-Conda Weekly Builds do not seem to include FEM Workbench
For a long time now, I have been downloading the Win-Conda Weekly Builds from the Github website as they became available. Then I unzip the .7z and run from the FreeCAD executable. But, over the last couple of months I have been finding that when I then select the FEM Workbench, I see: * DLL load fa...

Re: [Feature Idea] Sketch / Solver Status
Very many thanks kisolre for your substantial improvements to the sketch that I posted, and for the advice you have offered. I knew I shouldn't have posted my sketch on the forum..... it's just like putting your head on the block..... I suppose that given more time, I could have done better myself t...

Re: [Feature Idea] Sketch / Solver Status
Following on from my last post a few days ago, here is a very simple file, to show what I mean. Offset Toolholder.FCStd (This file is just an extract from some previous design work I did a year or so ago). Just open the file, and begin to edit the sketch........... You can see that the sketch has ni...
