Re: Transform utility gets an upgrade in 0.17

Next you wondered how the heck to get out from this mode. (Hint: right-click on the shape label in the tree and choose "Finish editing"). This does not work when accidentally invoking this tool on a part design object: The "finish editing" can be clicked once, then this menu ite...

Re: [0.17] recommended strategy for modeling parts that need to be fitted to other existing objects?

After playing around a bit with trying to fix the positions of datum planes with the help of sketches (and finally found a way that seems not overly complicated) I think for this specific problem I'm going to use the recommendation of master sketches and use these sketches to define datum planes for...

[0.17] recommended strategy for modeling parts that need to be fitted to other existing objects?

I want to model a fan holder/duct for a cooling fan for my 3d printer. It has to fit to the fan, to the extruder mounting plate, have the right distance to the nozzle, not touch the heating block, not obstruct the cables and stay a certain height above the bed. What is the best strategy to make sure...

[0.17] Using expressions for datum plane angles

I am currently trying to arrange some datum planes, lines and points for a part to get all my dimensions and distances correct and still be able to tweak parameters afterwards with the help of the spreadsheet feature and expressions but unfortunately I cannot figure out how to make the roll angle of...

Re: [0.17] sketch rotation might contain a bug

I have edited post 1 to include version info, sorry about forgetting to attach it yesterday. ---- Ok, here is a concrete example: begin with empty part and body. create sketch on xz plane (important because the bug will not occur when using xy plane ) draw a rectangle close the sketch Now we have a ...

[0.17] sketch rotation might contain a bug

I think I found something that looks like a bug to me, can anybody confirm this? 0. use latest 0.17 version (for example freecad-daily ppa on Ubuntu) 1. New project, new part, new body 2. Create new sketch on xz or yz plane 3. draw a rectangle on the sketch 4. leave sketch edit mode 5. select newly ...
