Re: Auto feature recognition algorithm implementation

We use AAG as a medium structure to iterate faces and query some precomputed props such as dihedral angles, neighbors, etc. Can you share a representative model (ideally in STEP) with a pocket?

Re: Auto feature recognition algorithm implementation

Well, I have to admit that my experiments with the volume decomposition approaches were quite limited (https://www.graphicon.ru/html/2016/papers/Pages_58-63.pdf -- RUSSIAN ONLY). Probably you have some fresh ideas on how you'd perform your decomposition. Are you going to use convex hulls of shapes, ...

Re: Auto feature recognition algorithm implementation

I have been searching for a while, however I guess there is no source code available for auto feature recognition for FreeCAD or native open cascade . I wonder if someone is working on it or are there plans to work on something like volumetric decomposition for feature detection. I have been workin...

It would be good to document the Mesh Design functionality in FC (unless it's already documented somewhere on the wiki). It would also be good to reference where in the OCC code we can find the unfolding-library files
That's a commercial package in fact. It is not available in sources.

Re: Utility to inspect OpenCascade models

Ping The first shape (the bigger one) cannot be auto-healed because it contains a solid with the incorrect configuration of shells. Have a look at the following screenshot: freecad-shape1.png All these small round features intersect the bigger shell, so there is a self-interference in the model. Th...

Re: Utility to inspect OpenCascade models

Dear Wilfred, Thank you for posting the shapes, I am having a look at them now. Your second shape seems to be healed already, at least it arrives at Analysis Situs as a formally correct solid. Do you have a broken version of the second shape? For the first shape, it is a compound of many solids. The...

Re: Utility to inspect OpenCascade models

Guys, if you can kindly propose any cmake improvements to ease the process, I will follow. Personally, I just built OpenCascade from scratch, which is probably not something most of people want to do. Also, the current finder of OpenCascade simply looks for libs/includes, and it is not very conventi...

Re: FOSDEM FreeCAD & Blender

Was wondering about somebody developing an Open Source solution for going from Mesh to Nurbs. This is the subject of my research in fact (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/332541920_To_the_Development_of_Open_Source_Software_for_the_Reconstruction_of_CAD_Models). There is no MVP so far thoug...
