Version Control using GitLab
According to this thread: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=38353 It seems like version control is a requested feature. And I would agree, it would be awesome... That thread is talking about one approach to this, namely to save FreeCAD files as directories instead of zipped files...

FreeCAD versions and Python versions
I released a Workbench created in Python a few days ago. Due to "laziness" I subconsciously managed to do it Python3 only. What do you think about this in this day and age? (May 2019). As Python2 has 7 months to live, is it evil to release something as Python3 only? How much energy should ...

Re: Slic3r Workbench
Interesting. Also, more often than not, my projects contain multiple parts that have to be printed separately (can be a one part split into pieces to be printable, several parts that form an assembly, or several variants of the same part). And I'd like to have the same for Cura as well! Right now, ...

Re: Slic3r Workbench
Mikael, thanks for sharing this workbench. As for the file selection: It would be perfect, if you can set the derived filename as a proposal in the file selection dialog. If that's not possible I would prefer your solution over allways typing the name again and again. If you want to go even further...

Slic3r Workbench
Hi, I would like to announce my little Slic3r Workbench, it helps you to work use FreeCAD and Slic3r for 3D printing, without having to manually go through the many clicks of exporting and running Slic3r manually. It is here: https://github.com/limikael/freecad-slic3r-tools I created it to have a mo...

Re: Gardening Robot
Indeed it is! I'd say the idea of syncing up with the FarmBot project is good, though most of what I was going to say has already been said by emills2. My 2 cents: "gardening" is really a variety of tasks, some of which can be straightforward with current hardware & software. Some of ...

Re: Gardening Robot
Thanks emills2 for sharing your insights regarding steppers vs DC motors. The course of actions to first try with of the shelf components before trying to build my own certainly seems very reasonable. There is a little part inside of me, I guess my "ego", that thinks it would be "cool...

Gardening Robot
Hi, Here is a rendering of my design for a gardening robot. https://preview.ibb.co/mLBU3e/mavis_with_arm_on_1m_rail.jpg Some info about the project: The brown thing on the tip of the arm is the Universal Tool Mount from FarmBot . The goal is to make the robot compatible with FarmBot on the tool leve...
