I think this is just because you use Default Tool.
Delete default tool and add a custom tool from library.

Well, for me seems to be a quick working as long as I only prefer to import sketch or model not make it in Free Cad, that means I use Free Cad only as a post processor for my needs and would be nice if these things will not be changed but improved.

I found a way to create pockets wery easy using only 2D entities.
