Re: Complex pocketing?

I'm getting some nice results using multiple Pocket_3D operations. Here's an intermediate result displayed in Camotics: CamoticsOutput1.png Quick question: Is there a way to force an operation to use the results of a previous operation as its starting point? (In other words, I want to keep operatio...

Re: Complex pocketing?

I just had some time to look into the model. There is no shortcut to this task. In my opinion: 1. Face milling of each Drilled Post. With adequate positive "material allowance" value to make sure you make a nice platform there. 2. Drilling of each hole. 3.Then normal pocket milling of the bottom. W...

Re: FreeCAD and Raspberry Pi 4

I didn't succeed tout compile with PY3/Qt4 successfully ( https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=37458&start=80#p340741 But maybe ones could try better than I did, with more skills. My aim now is to try to compile with Py3/qt5, by using a downgraded Qt5 lib (qt5.7.1) following advices of...

Re: Tools, old Tool, new ToolBit and other fun stuff

Hi Dan, i saw your video and i think the 0,0,0 Point of the bit should be at the lower, center place of the bit... @mlampert says this point should be on the top of the bit, but for better understanding it were be better on the lower place... I am currently discussing this with @mlampert. Thanks, Dan

Re: Tools, old Tool, new ToolBit and other fun stuff

I have started looking at using the new tool definition in simulation:

Simulation.webm
(233.66 KiB) Downloaded 9 times

No material is removed yet as the tool definition need to be modified in the simulation and the position of the tool isn't correct.

Big thanks to mlampert for all your work on these tools.

Thanks,

Dan

Re: FreeCAD and Raspberry Pi 4

Has anyone managed a successful build using Py3 / Qt4 ?

I seem to be getting issues with mismatched pyside and shiboken versions with py3 on Raspbian buster.

Thanks,

Dan

Re: Tooltable is not backward compatible

You are correct. Once the tooltable has been opened in 0.19 it converts the tooltable to allow the use of multiple tables.

It will then no longer work with older versions.

Maybe we could show a warning to let users make a backup of the tooltable?

Thanks,

Dan
