Re: ToolBit - new version

Haven't looked at the lathe ops, sounds like you want to refactor the PathOp and split it into a base and the milling specific pieces. I would like to discuss this with you and sliptonic at some point and come up with a plan. I quite like the idea of the operations checking for the correct tool par...

Re: Expand Profile not working

Is there an alternative way of doing what I am looking for, or do I just need to build multiple profiles with offsets? There is but it's not pretty  Something like: 1. create the profile operation 2. rightclick the operation 3. select "copy the operation in the job" once for each step over you...

Re: ToolBit - new version

This means that tools that don't have a diameter, like lathe tools, have to include a diameter attribute. It is improved in the newer version of the toolbits as it only requires an additional attribute rather than additional elements in the sketch. Only if they use the current ops - are you implyin...

Re: ToolBit - new version

One limitation with the new tools is that they require a Diameter attribute. File "/home/sandal/Documents/Github/freecad-build/Mod/Path/PathScripts/PathOp.py", line 331, in setDefaultValues obj.OpToolDiameter = obj.ToolController.Tool.Diameter 'FeaturePython' object has no attribute 'Diameter' That...

Re: ToolBit - new version

Additional working directory observations: - Its not possible to cancel the toolbit working directory file dialog. - Selecting a directory without the proper file structure shows the following dialog: Screenshot from 2021-01-23 21-10-18.png Selecting 'No' on this dialog 3 times gives the following e...

Re: ToolBit - new version

Toolbit working directory not saved:

If you set the toolbit working directory to the default FreeCAD toolbit directory (Mod/Path/Tools)

The working directory setup dialog is shown every time the tooldock is opened.

Re: ToolBit - new version

Another observation: I have updated my lathe tools to use a relative path to the bit files: "iso_shape_d.fctb" The paths in the *.fctl file are reset to the absolute path if you open and close the tool library manager form: Screenshot from 2021-01-23 20-49-37.png Resulting path in .fctl: "/home/sand...

However, the PropertyBag is a generic implementation and can be used outside of toolbits.
Ah ok. That makes sense.

Thanks,

Dan
