Re: [MERGED] Approximate/rough guess of milling time

I had thought changing the message type as a quick solution, because removing the trigger might be more difficult. As the calculation of the milling time has no impact on the path generation, it has a similar importance as inspecting the GCode or simulation of the path. Thus it may indeed be sensib...

Re: [MERGED] Approximate/rough guess of milling time

Hi Dan, [Can you give an example of when the cycle time has proven to be incorrect? no, i can not, - and you can't see if the time is correct or not at the file... :? I appreciate that its only possible to tell if the cycle time is wrong by running it on a machine. You have said that the cycl...

Re: Let's talk about errors and warnings.

Milling time should not be a warning, that could be an easy to implement relief, if you don't auto show report view on normal messages. Re: [MERGED] Approximate/rough guess of milling time

But why calculate this (nearly nearly useless, because mostly wrong) milling time each time if a path gets calculated? The cycle time is calculated every time the operation is calculated to ensure the cycletime reflects the changes to the operation. it might make sense calculating when the form but...

Re: Path Code Style Guide

Thank you to everyone for your feedback, comments and helpful guidance. I have shamelessly stolen the Draft workbench coding conventions (I hope you don't mind VOCX) and updated the first few posts. I hope that this is just the start of the discussion and we can continue to distill a sensible and us...

Re: Path Code Style Guide

I am much in favor of codifying whatever style is decided in configs for popular tools, so that the drudgery of identifying and partly fixing issues can be automated. I was thinking of setting up a git hook to check my work. Something like this: https://ljvmiranda921.github.io/notebook/2018/06/21/p...

Re: Path Code Style Guide

Thank you for the response, Rightly or wrongly I use a PEP8 formatting checker and I try to stick to the recommendations with the exception of line length. Here are the PEP8 styles for comparison: - Indentation (Tabs / Spaces) AFAIK Python only works if this is correct Most editors allow tabs to be ...
