Re: Fill in corner with wedge?

Hm, strange. 2019-02-15-03-34-52-FreeCAD.png I tried this with Body001 selected, with AdditiveLoft001 selected and with Fillet001 selected. Maybe it's because my FreeCAD is a few weeks old: OS: Windows 7 Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.18.15619 (Git) Build type: Relea...

Re: Fill in corner with wedge?

Hm, nope, 0 invalid shapes.

No issues converting it to a mesh either.

I attached the file, in case you like to play around with it.

But yes, your idea is better. I didn't remember that I can of course sketch "into the air".

Re: Fill in corner with wedge?

I think I found a way.

I made two sketches like this:

And then I lofted the upper one through the lower one:

Fill in corner with wedge?

I found that this part breaks often along the blue line, so I though I'll make it stronger by filling in the corners as shown in red: 2019-02-14-01-53-33-FreeCAD.png How to do that? While I was writing this question I got the idea to trace and pad the polygon like this, and then draft it: 2019-02-14...

Re: Fatal error when filleting

Thank you. I replaced the old length constraint with external geometry and a coincident constraint and now it fillets nicely.

Fatal error when filleting

Please see the attached file. I am trying to fillet this edge: 2019-01-06-21-27-50-FreeCAD.png But I just get a broken body with different errors (with the Part workbench Fillet tool). At first (when I had more edges selected) I got "BRep_API: command not done" but now I'm just getting "A fatal erro...

Render Arch model with Luxrender

In the Arch Tutorial in the Wiki there is an example of the casa_artigas model rendered with Luxrender: But, for a quick rendering, the Raytracing workbench can already do a good job, with the advantage of being very easy to setup, thanks to its templates system. This is a rendering of our model ful...

Arch: Simple door not connected with host object

I'm doing the following steps in the Arch workbench: - Create a wall object (select working plane XY, select Wall tool, zoom out, draw a wall of a few meters length) - Select the Window tool - Hover the wall until a face turns yellow, click - As expected a window is inserted in the wall - Delete the...

Re: How to change my workflow to get better editability

could I maybe get an attachment mode that works the same as Plane face but sets the origin to a selectable vertex of the face (or even just the one with e.g. the lowest coordinates would already be helpful)? I just noticed that there is already such a mode! It's called "Tangent to surface" (aka "Ta...

How was the wall from sketch in the Wiki made?

The Arch Wall page in the Wiki shows an example of an Arch Wall made from a sketch. Note that the walls are smoothly connected:

When I try to recreate the same, my walls are connected like this:

How did they create the example in the Wiki?
