Split FEM Result Object

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way in FreeCAD to split the FEM result object, for example to observe the temperature distribution on the inside? I haven't found any relating threads and so far I've had little success trying it myself.

Many thanks for the answers!

it's the university gear :D

okay good idea, I'll try the ccx mailing list!

Re: Ccx Suddenly Stopped Working

You can use the utilities Process Explorer or Process Monitor to look at some details of the CalculiX executable. Maybe this give a hint about the reason of the crash. Will do! Thank you for the suggestion. Anyway before the crash, Calculix seems to be trying hard to solve the calculation. It consu...

Ccx Suddenly Stopped Working

Hello, I was running the Analysis with calculix when suddenly it stopped with Error message saying "POSIX winthreads for Windows has stopped working". I have no idea what that is. I saw that the size of the Input file and the mesh is quite big, 30 MB and 20 MB respectively (all my other su...

Re: Memory Allocation Failure

After some defeaturing, i got this to work. Hey again UR_, I was wondering how did you mesh the model? Did you only use the default netgen parameter with coarse fineness? And how long did it take to write the inp file until you get the calculix results? The reason I asked is because I tried working...

Re: Memory Allocation Failure

After some defeaturing, i got this to work. Unfortunately, with some boring results. :( Perhaps this isn't a real FEM case, but only a RAM test  Hi UR_, thanks for taking the time to try out my model! :D So I guess there's no other way but to defeature the original model, huh? You're right I o...

Re: Memory Allocation Failure

Thank you for your replies! I tried using the other matrix solver types (iterativecholesky and iterativescaling) but unfortunately it kept failing and Calculix broke off after a few hundreds of iterations. I will look further into that. bernd: If you gone run ccx for almost two days it might be bett...

Memory Allocation Failure

Hello guys, I'm doing a simulation and encountered a problem with the analysis. It apparently stopped during the calculation due to memory allocation failure, something I find quite bizzare because I used the university computer which has 64 GB RAM and the program "only" uses about half of...

Re: Add FEM Constraint References Using Script

you're right, an exception is raised when I tried to choose it as reference shape.

sorry for the dumb question but are you saying that I should fix the face geometry to solve this? because my untrained eyes don't see the problem with the face.
