Re: Hardware choice for FreeCAD

Thanks for the answers, folks. With good explanation, neat! There seem to be contradictions (or am I wrong?): 1. Single Core performance is more important than large core count. and When you do many with FEM or patterns/arrays or many TechDraw views, more CPUs are indeed helpful. Also the link provi...

Hardware choice for FreeCAD

A new FreeCAD PC is required. So my supplier wants to know the specs. Where can I find information regarding hardware selection? For example, it is not described in the 'Getting started' documentation' . Then just dig through the forum. I read about 'Multi-threading' or 'Multicore' things. And a sol...

Re: Fasteners WB change standard color of parts

Updating via Addon Manager didn't work properly. Reinstalling turned out to be the solution. I also see that the list of parts to choose from has grown again. Awesome! Very happy with this solution and especially how quickly it was done. A wish that doesn't really belong in this thread, but while we...

Re: Fasteners WB change standard color of parts

It's great that my wishes are immediately anticipated. I love it! 8-)

Updated via the Addon Manager and restarted FreeCAD.

But... I don't see an option to change the default color in the Fasteners WB preferences?

Fasteners WB change standard color of parts

I enjoy working with the Fasteners WB. The nuts and bolts etc. are displayed in a standard gray color during 'assembly'. I change them to pink every time (#ffaaff, so they stand out). In 'Edit > Preferences' I don't see the option to change the default color. Is there another option? ---------------...

Re: Sheet metal; doesn't unbend, but definately should

Your version of FC is 0.19, quite outdated. You should update to FC 0.21.1 and check that sheetmetal workbench version is 0.2.63. I should. And I want to, but installer fails. Something wrong with 'coin4.dll' and 'createdomdocument.exe' And also the 7z-file does not unpack because of faillures I ca...

Sheet metal; doesn't unbend, but definately should

Re: A change in file location; how to handle this?

Hi Koemi ! Which Assembly Module ? A2/A2p ? With A2p you can you can use the option "use project folder" in preferences. Everything (assemblies, sourcefiles) have to below this, regardless where. Or is this my lifesaver? Apart from the early files created in A2... What to do with these? I...

Re: A change in file location; how to handle this?

For instance (from Z:\blabla\FreeCAD_files\ to another like for instance D:\raldiedal\etc\FreeCAD_files\). So I am expecting that parts cannot be found, drawings unreachable etc. How to handle this? Any workbench available, or will this be a week of hell to recreate new assemblies / changing locati...
