Re: fcVM workbench

Would it be possible to make this WB available through the addon manager or is it intended to merge this with FEM in main at some point? Is there a documentation or example files somewhere? Thanks it looks really good! The example files are included in the repo: https://github.com/HarryvL/fcVM-work...

When I refer to fcFEM I mean this: https://forum.freecad.org/viewtopic.php?t=33974

I did not add shell elements to my code.

Re: fcVM workbench

I would like to model the soil using springs (Winkler model) and the foundation using shell elements. However, as far as I know, FCFEM does not support spring elements. Although I am unsure if this is the appropriate place to discuss this topic. fcFEM does not support shell elements, but the interf...

Re: fcVM workbench

can it be used to model foundation on soil with springs? I mean Winkler model? This could be done by modelling the soil as 3D elements or with interface elements (which were available in fcFEM). However, there are two issues to consider: 1) GMSH does not allow generation of interface elements. In f...

Re: fcVM workbench

Its a small effort to reinstate the reinforcement ratio option. something like this? . HH_Blankenese.png . This is at a load factor of 2.0, unfactored concrete compressive strength of 30MPa and unfactored steel yield strength of 240MPa. Comparing this to typical reinforcement ratios in the age this...

Re: fcVM workbench

When I have a concrete structure like the bell tower, would you recommend to use fcvm? I have a bunch of ten hard to read architecture drawings from the last century, no statics calculation, no specification of rebar layout, no specification of the soil. We are planning a antenna system (with housi...

Now fixed and in the repo.

Re: fcVM workbench

I was playing around to see why the CSR in the Wyk_Rohrstoss_linear example is so high and found that it is due to local bending of the tube: . Wyk_Rohrstoss_linear_bending.png . To confirm this I placed a ring on top of the stiffeners to restrict local deformation of the tube: . Wyk_Rohrstoss_ring_...
