Re: Assembly3 Tutorials

Regarding the use of datum features I would like to disagree. Many years ago I worked as a CAD trainer for Creo / Pro-Engineer. Datum features have the advantage that it can't even lead to topo naming problems. I did a test with Assembly 3 and couldn't find any problems. I can provide no technical ...

Re: Assembly3 Tutorials

ping Hi Ceremcem, unfortunately, I still have a problem understanding if features are to be deleted or added. I made a video about the problem, it takes about 5 minutes: https://peertube.mastodon.host/videos/watch/0fccd024-c3a7-4173-ad9e-a761022bda28 I built on datum-planes, so topo-naming shouldn'...

How can two cube surfaces be counter-aligned or aligned?
The document is very outdated, but still helpful on this topic: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k40drc9rlkflr ... n.pdf?dl=0

You can select both surfaces and add a "PlaneAlignment Constraint".

Re: Assembly3 Tutorials

I can merge both parts, or drag and drop the respective bodies into the parts of the assembly. What's the right way? You shouldn't merge the projects (File -> Merge project), it's out of our context and I'd never used it. Correct way is dragging and dropping respective Assembly Containers into your...

Re: Assembly3 Tutorials

Would you be so kind as to upload your Freecad exercise parts somewhere, or is they already there somewhere and I just missed them? Currently there is no simple "Hello world" tutorials available. I created a "Building a Car" example just now: https://youtu.be/lPZi3tVbBew A short question about inse...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Any chance that we get an appimage for testing the current status after the first commit? I could not find one on https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/releases . BR Regardless of @realthunder's response, I'd like to suggest you my builder scripts which is very handy if you keep up the bleeding edge: ...

I don't know is this a good place,
I prefer reporting issues at https://github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD_assembly3/issues. It's more appropriate place as this thread is a "chat room" and github is a real issue tracker.

Assembly3 Tutorials

I've been preparing a cheatsheet-like mini tutorials/HOWTO's primarily for myself and my future colleagues: ceremcem/freecad-notes Now I think I can assist some people while getting up and running with Assembly3 WB. My aim by this collaboration is both completing the HOWTO more efficiently and learn...

Re: Assembly3 preview

With this I try to see how far I can get, if I have questions I will contact you, if I may. Of course you may. My preferred way is opening issues per task in freecad-notes . You are supposed to open one or more issues per struggle. Maybe we have the possibility to meet in a video conference. https:...
