Re: FEM Heat Transfer material not assigned
To complete my thread, I had this post in mind (finally found it in my history): viewtopic.php?t=26946. So it's 5 years old and concerns version 0.17 and should not be a factor in my problems.

Re: FEM Heat Transfer material not assigned
OK, it's most likely the version. In the 0.21.2 it works without any issues, works as a charm. As I already wrote, I've seen somewhere a forum post where a bug was identified for two materials in one solution and supposedly fixed later. So I think 0.21.1 is affected. Re: FEM Heat Transfer material not assigned
Unfortunately, same result.
I've also tested OpenSUSE stock 0.20.2 in the meanwhile, but it's crashing on triggering Netgen.
I've downloaded 0.21.2 and a weekly build and try those versions and report.

Re: FEM Heat Transfer material not assigned
Your geometry is below the Analysis container in the tree. You should delete the whole container and recreate it to make sure that it's below the geometry. Then it should work with Part Compound. The compound is at the end, because it was created after the Analysis container (...because I modified ...

Re: FEM Heat Transfer material not assigned
I think that you should use Part Compound instead of Part Fuse (Union) so that individual parts can be selected for material assignment. More about this here: https://wiki.freecad.org/FEM_Geometry_Preparation_and_Meshing#Assembly_geometries Unfortunately, the result is absolutely identical - empty ...

... Just right-click on it and select Clear FEM mesh . Thank you for your point, will do next time :-). FEM Heat Transfer material not assigned
Hello community, I have a simple model with FEM analysis, that worked fine about month back. I needed to change a one thickness in the model and I am unable to run the calculation now. I tried number of changes, like creating whole new analysis, reasigning materials number of times, remeshin number ...

Any details on what would be the actual the rules to keep?NewJoker wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2023 5:11 pmThis doesn't matter but it might be important how the geometry is positioned in the tree with respect to the Analysis container.CopperGenie wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2023 4:48 pm Does it matter what order I have the material, constraints, and mesh in my Analysis container?

Re: Arch WB - Heat Analysis??
Hi,
if this is even possible in FC, there can be potentially two places to look:

- some add on macro does some basic analytical calculations based on your walls and windows
- FEM analysis with FEM WB
