Re: multiphysics fem in freecad
Developing the FEM library is itself already very time consuming and I unfortunately cannot add more work to that. If anyone at some point was going in that direction however and gives clear indication of what's needed to be added from the sparselizard side or what physic example he wants, I would g...

Re: multiphysics fem in freecad
Thanks for the post! I understand it is quite some work to take into account all physics with their own type of boundary conditions and all their coupling, but the impact for users is huge and there is no open source tool doing that really! Concerning the mesh loading part, sparselizard reads GMSH f...

Re: multiphysics fem in freecad
No I don't. I had a look at the format though... It seems quite specific to mechanics and somewhat not modern :p

multiphysics fem in freecad
Hi, Regarding providing high-performance multiphysics FEM capabilities in FreeCAD: I am the developer of sparselizard.org FEM library. There has been some minor talks already to couple it with FreeCAD and I would like to express my support for that. There should already be more than enough capabilit...

Re: Sparselizard yafems
"BTW we use netgen and gmesh. gmesh will be called as binary with geo file and brep geometry.FreeCAD reads back an exported unv. Works quite well." Ok. I am not yet familiar with the workflow for fem in freecad. There must also be ways to create a temporary .msh file I guess, but you know ...

Re: FOSDEM FreeCAD & Blender
... FOSDEM. Some of the talks there were open source projects ... a FEM solver, if I recall, that were started by people during university studies. related to FreeCAD? That would surely interests me ... https://fosdem.org/2020/schedule/event/sparselizard/ Interesting. Will we see it added to FreeCA...
