Re: FrreeCAD Tutorial

This has been discussed in the past, our conclusion is that keeping the wiki up to date with the very few who work much on it means that your suggestion, which was consideted, is unworkable. We decided on the simple policy that the wiki follows master (not release versions) with a note added saying...

Re: Creating a groove

Here is a lead for you. Take a look at mesh wb and search documentation for nurbs.

I studied tjat a little last week and i think you may find value thete for changing a shape. A good skill for what is called organic models.

Re: Creating a groove

Venche, I don't see a groove in the red object; I am assuming that you translated to english and a little got lost. So, in a nebulous way I see a depression in that (seat?, foot rest?) Starting high at the back side and low in the center front side and a form that is ribbon-like. With that in mind I...

Chris,

Thanks. This was new and helpful for me. Is that only available as a capability for the Draft WB Scale?

Re: Converting model aircraft plans into a 3D model for printing

Tony, I too explored many other free and for pay 3D CAD systems. Some simpler and some more complex. I settled on FreeCAD and was determined to master it part by part as I needed capabilities for environmental sensor-enclosures and jewelry design. Looking back on that journey I think that although t...

Re: Converting model aircraft plans into a 3D model for printing

Max, Thanks ... This is the direction we need to go. We have 2 formers and need to draw the rest some may be symetric and so we might be able to make them with copies that have expressions for scaling. I am keeping in mind: this is to be 3d printed so we will need some supports and wall thicknesses....
