Re: FreeCAD 0.18.4 fails to build with vtk 9.0
Hmmm. Weird. Strictly speaking, the file 'patterns/brick01' does *not* exist - the actual file is 'patterns/brick01.svg', and that's what is specified in the Draft.qrc file. Which leads me to ask, because there is an issue with this right now for 0.19 and Ubuntu and I know Fedora likes to live close...

Yep, looks like the apply_visitor interface may have changed between 1.71 and 1.73 in commit 1ba33a580e67b92f66abdbbfe8edab577ba80222 :

Re: Ubuntu 20.04 upgrade blew away FreeCAD, looking for options...
As noted now in this thread :
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=45413
following the workaround given there, I've been able to build and run 0.19 for 20.04, so this issue is now closed from my POV, thanks.

Re: Ubuntu 20.04
FYI, following hko's approach ( thankyou ! ), and some excellent build documentation ( quite a rarity, thankyou :D ), I've also managed to now get an apparently working ( at least so far... ) build of .19 for Ubuntu 20.04. There appears to be an issue with some missing VTL related files, but this di...

Re: Ubuntu 20.04 upgrade blew away FreeCAD, looking for options...
Well, I think the topic of why I stongly dislike the use of AppImages as a distribution format ( in general, not just for FreeCAD ), is probably a seperate discussion which could accomodate several pages of ranting ( by me that is :) ). So I'm just going to stick with my original question - is there...

Ubuntu 20.04 upgrade blew away FreeCAD, looking for options...
Hi folk, I upgraded Xubuntu 19.10 with a happy FreeCAD to 20.04, and discovered I had no FreeCAD. If I re-enable the launchpad PPA that I was using, the Ubuntu software installer crashes ( not FreeCAD's problem, it just can't deal with a repo that has no relevant Release file ). From reading some ot...
