Re: Problem sketching on curve surface, loft and mesh

Could be a coplanar face issue. Set the offset property of the sketch on surface object to -0.01mm. You should then be able to fuse the cone and the sketch on surface object.

Re: How to reset the main coordinate planes?

It's hard to say without seeing your file. If you open the placement task dialog you can press the reset button to put it back to the default coordinates. Click the button with 3 dots on it in the placement property view to open the placement task.

Re: Feature Request - Export STEP as a Part instead as an Assembly of Parts

Perhaps you can fuse all your objects into a single object, and then export that fusion object.

Re: Merge sketches and other questions

I suggest to save the fillets and chamfers until the last step. These features tend to be not as robust as other features and are easily redone if need be. Try to avoid attaching sketches to faces, prefer instead to attach to one of the planes, e.g. xy plane, then adjust the attachment offset if nee...

Sorry, I didn't notice the date on Werner's post was from February. The update is now in the latest 0.19 builds. To check the release date on your version you are using, go to the Help menu -> about FreeCAD. You can use the copy to clipboard function to paste it to the board. My version information:...

Re: Back to Basics

You are not too dumb to do 3d cad. While there is a lot to learn, none of the individual bits are particularly difficult. You can increase the default pick radius so preselection occurs with the mouse pointer a bit further from the desired object. Go to the Edit menu -> preferences -> display -> col...

Re: Create mesh from shape - missing color

Do you have an idea when this fix might be released? Because if I see it correctly there hasn't been a new release in over half a year. If not: is there a workaround until then? It should be part of one of the regular 0.19 pre-release builds within a week or so. Scroll down on the downloads page an...

Re: How to solve/debug this enumeration index issue?

I think you have the default settings. I've never seen this particular message. Can you upload the file that produces it?

Depending on your model it might be possible to change the point size in the view tab.
