Re: Inward thickness failing

dditive (as in external dimensions grow) mode sometimes works. But that's exactly what I don't need. If you have any tips how to cheat it, I would gladly appreciate it. Hi WesterWest, and welcome! I'll add that after selecting Fusion in the history tree and from the Data tab (lower left corner of t...

Re: Sweep Cut - Doesn't start in the expected location.

It **should** start at the Sketch. Your file is taking forever to Recompute here, so that might be a problem... Edit: It was taking too long so I had to force quit FreeCAD. With the attached file, what do you want to do? 20190723a-SweepCut.FCStd OS: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS Word size of OS: 32-bit Word si...

I am thinking here, how do I replace one sketch by another?
You can also try the OpenSCAD WB > Replace Object tool:

Re: Part design: what do the preferences options do?

- What means "check model" (what will be done while checking)? After creating an Additive and Subtractive Feature it internally checks for errors in Boolean operations (in part Design the Booleans are built-in to the tools), like the Part WB > Check Geometry tool does (I think, but am not certain, ...

the images should show the idea of this technique which is sometimes referred to as "Wilfried's trick".
It's late for you, and you forgot the link:

Re: Create A "Clean" Sweep of this!

I have to row back. If I go to the Draft WB and use the Bi-Directionally Convert tool to convert the Sketches of the path and the profile of cadre.fcstd to DWires, Part WB > Sweep in the +X +Y quadrant works and passes Check Geometry with BOPCheck = True. If I create the sweep with the original ske...

Re: Create A "Clean" Sweep of this!

I'm not sure, I have to wonder if the problem could be how FreeCAD deals with Sketcher Arcs arcs (also thinking about the Trim problem with Arcs). If I go to the Draft WB and use the Bi-Directionally Convert tool to convert the Sketches of the path and the profile of cadre.fcstd to DWires, Part WB >...

Re: Create A "Clean" Sweep of this!

I **should** be able to create the model entirely in Part Design, but using the shape contained in Sketch001 fails. If I substitute a rectangle for the geometry in Sketch001 I can create the model in Part Design as I intended but the result fails Check Geometry when BOPCheck = True. 20190721c.png 20...

Re: Create A "Clean" Sweep of this!

Can someone please confirm? I can reproduce the crash in a different manner. Open the cadre.fcstd file from the second post and edit Sketch to change the Arc from a 1/4 circle 20190721a.png to a 1/2 circle 20190721b.png FreeCAD crashes for me after closing Sketch. Re: Tangent Constraint seems wrong

Notice that now a 'Tangent Constraint appears below the two horizontal lines. This seems wrong. A horizontal constraint would be correct. Hi rich61 and welcome! In your example a Horizontal Constraint would only be partially correct because in order to keep the line segments co-linear (without usin...
