Re: 100 cad exercises

Page 68. The upper image and 3D view show the 5x5 pockets in conflicting locations, the location of the two 10mm diameter holes isn't given, the upper image doesn't show the step on the left correctly, and the length of the straight edges of the step in the lower image isn't given. https://image.sli...

I usually use Part Design workbench but recently I have used Part workbench to create a part from a number of different primitives
Instead, create those primitives from Part Design instead of the Part WB.

Re: 100 cad exercises

Looking at page 67, the view on the left should show the top edge as an ellipse instead of being shown as flat.

Edit: And in the view on the right the distance the leg of the ell extends to the right can't be determined.

Edit2: There's no way to determine the width of the L (view on left).

Re: 100 cad exercises

Page 63 Are you sure - isn't that page 64? I modeled mine differently to get a similar result, but once again I think that the overall height can't be determined from the information given in that drawing. page_64.png page_64.fcstd OS: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS Word size of OS: 32-bit Word size of FreeCAD...

Re: Essential Training for FreeCAD?

In terms of what I'm hoping to do with FreeCAD - I need to design a few little enclosures that I'll get made into molds. We've seen other people do this. After you become familiar with using FreeCAD you should be able to create your enclosures pretty quickly. Are there any similar capabilities in F...

One more; page 62:

page_62.fcstd

Same FreeCAD version as my post above. From the information given in the exercise the overall height can't be determined, so I chose a height.

Re: Essential Training for FreeCAD?

Hi Community. I'm new here. Hi monkey and welcome! I just want to get the whole story in one volume I don't know of one all-encompassing book, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. It would probably be helpful if you describe what you'd like to do with FreeCAD so we can offer relevant suggestions.
