Anticipated Short-Term Absence From Forum

Just letting everyone know that I've got some other priorities happening (nothing bad) so I expect to be away from the forum for a few weeks or so.

Re: how to make a freecad image transparent?

I thought that at one time Transparency did work for the Image Plane, maybe in FreeCAD 0.16 or earlier?

Re: how to make a freecad image transparent?

It's already under the grid but the image is black, can you change the color of the grid? We can't change the color of the Grid in Sketcher. I don't use the Grid in Sketcher so let me suggest a work flow to get you started. In your Sketch create a Rectangle, use the Symmetry Constraint to Constrain...

Re: How to understand and use the Dependency Graph

I will do that, but I do not understand. Would the same problem occur if instead of ShapeString I had a sketch, and I changed that? My thought was that you Filleted edges made by the Pocketed ShapeString, so changing the ShapeString text will certainly ruin the subsequent Fillets. If the Fillets ar...

Re: Draw on opposite side of plane

Close sketcher and highlight the sketch in the tree. Notice in preference there is a map reversed, change that to the opposite. I very much miss not being able to do create the Sketch on the back side of the Plane anymore. I'd like the user to be able to create the Sketch that way from the get-go i...

Re: How to understand and use the Dependency Graph

Probably everything after Pocket003 is messed up because the ShapeString text changed (which created topological naming problems) so try deleting all your Fillets recreating them.

Re: How to understand and use the Dependency Graph

But when I changed part of the text (10-30-19 to 11-03-19) the old text did not go away and the new text only appears when I view no more than 1 fillet into the body below (as seen in the tree) the text entry. I wonder if you forked your model into two separate histories, so my opinion is that the ...

Is there a way to make an image transparent
Not that I know of. Instead I use Data Tab > Property > Placement > Position to move the Image Plane down or back a tiny bit so that my Sketcher lines are just above or in front of the Image Plane.

Re: Constrain one line by a calculated expression

The problem I'm having is basically referencing one constraint from within another. I tried naming the constraint and referencing it using an expression, but that wasn't recomputed when I changed the length of wallWidth I named a Constraint with the name of WallThk and to use it in an Expression of...
