Re: Crash freecad-daily PPA on Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
Good to hear you resolved it (partially). P.S. As it worked OK on Ubuntu 16.04. I would still try the bootable USB Ubuntu 18.04 option. To see with ease if they really introduced the regression in driver or a glitch was introduced as a part of Ubuntu upgrade procedure. I will definitely try that, b...

Re: Crash freecad-daily PPA on Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
[AMD/ATI] RS690M [Radeon Xpress 1200/1250/1270] That's a more than decade old chipset, and not supported anymore by AMD so you're stuck with the radeon open source driver. AFAIK ATI/AMD support in Linux has always been less than optimal in Linux, even though it's improved over the years. That's one...

Re: Crash freecad-daily PPA on Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
Thanks! You put me in the right track. Not disabling DR3 (it still crashes with it), but with software rendering it does not crash: export "LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1" I will try to get a better solution. PS: FWIW I use Ubuntu Mate 18.04 with VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices,...

Re: Crash freecad-daily PPA on Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
Thank you for the quick reply :) In your home folder there is a hidden folder named .FreeCAD. Close FreeCAD, temporary rename the folder to something like .FreeCAD-Bak and try to start FreeCAD again. If it will work OK now there is some setting or a module interfering. Crashes too. If it still won't...

Crash freecad-daily PPA on Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
Hi! Most probably I will be doing something wrong, but I upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04 and now FreeCAD daily from the PPA crashes as soon as I create a New Document. I can switch WB without crashes. info: OS: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.18.14220 (Git...

Re: TechDraw 3D view of multiple parts
That's because you need to link the dimension on the isometric view to the 3D model. See https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/images/thumb/5/58/TechDraw_Dimension_Link.png/32px-TechDraw_Dimension_Link.png TechDraw Dimension Link It works! Thanks. I was trying to link to another dimension (front view) an...

Re: Dimensioning in TechDraw
Click on the https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/images/thumb/5/5d/TechDraw_Toggle.png/32px-TechDraw_Toggle.png TechDraw Toggle icon to hide view frames and vertices. Then you'll be able to pick edges. Click the Refresh icon (standard toolbar) to make view frames and vertices visible again. Very useful...

Re: TechDraw 3D view of multiple parts
First I tried the "Insert View" with multiple selected objects and it did not seem to work. Then I did not try with the group option. ... is not working for you, please let me know (and include a test file if you can). The only thing that looked strange is: Dimensioning_Perspective.png So...

Re: TechDraw 3D view of multiple parts
First I tried the "Insert View" with multiple selected objects and it did not seem to work. Then I did not try with the group option. Insert View should work with multiple selected objects. The "group" is the collection of primary and secondary views, not the input. If Insert Vi...

Re: Dimensioning in TechDraw
Replying to self. You cannot see when a point is selected, because it is the same tone of green. However, you can select one point and the holding CTRL select the next point and then click the dimension.
