Re: Backport AttachmentSupport to 0.21?

Hi,
How many features will be affected? How many tools need to be edited? And what about older FCStd files? You will have 0.21.2 incompatible with 0.21.2+ ?
I think it is better not backport it. Better is make tool for exchange FCStd 0.21.2 <-> 0.22.0.
It is my opinion.

Re: Feature request: Remove Torus from Part workbenchs Solids toolbar

Hi,

I never used torus (just test it). Rotate circle or ellipse is easy.
I'm using rest of the primitives, they are handy sometimes.

Re: [Feature discussion] Cosmetic thread - 3D geometry

Hi, First PartDesign of Cosmetic Thread 3D implemented. I'm not satisfied with the solution, but it works and it is shown on TechDraw somehow... https://github.com/martinproks/cosmeticthread3d Note: The attachment helper is not cone (as Part version), but helping coordinate system. The thread orient...

Any time a FreeCAD file is opened only the fasteners and gears associated with that companies specific library are available to use. Libraries are set up...

Re: Ads on Youtube goes more and more anoying, where to go?

Hi,

Step side: It could be great if this forum can support more video platforms in a tag '['video']' than youtube only.
I have no idea how easy or hard is add it to the tag.

PS: I'm using Odysee ;)

Re: Fasteners workbench additions?

Hi, Image is image. One rivet, three grip distances. Theoretically there are infinity amount of grip distances - for example range <8;12>. Minor deformations are unimportant (usually). Important informations are usually: - Rivet blank/ordering informations, for example: Round head rivet DIN 660/124 ...

Re: Fasteners workbench additions?

Hi, I'm not a part of Fasteners workbench developers, but rivets are a little bit different from other fasteners. It is a little bit trickie - for any fasteners CAD tool. Rivet is not single geometry. - First geometry is a rivet blank - rivet as You buy it. But this is not geometry You want to have ...

Re: Direct modeling now in low cost CAD

Hi, IMO, direct modeling for CAD doesn't make since, it's fine for graphic editing programs but not CAD. I do not agree. In company I'm working. - 3D models from design department are feature models (parametrized). Direct modeling is forbidden - WITH EXCEPTIONS. One of the exceptions are downloaded ...
