Re: Angle measure not visible in tech draw

Thanks for your quick response. I have used freecad in the past but not much. So I am afraid I have another question.

How do I move the measurement? I can select it but I cannot drag it.

Yes my sketch is awful. I plan to simplify it by merging the lines.

Once again thanks for your help.

Angle measure not visible in tech draw

Hello, I try to use the tech draw workbench to to render a 2D sketch. I have created a view based on the sketch. This has worked fine. I now need to add a few measures to the drawing. Horizontal and vertical measures work fine. But angle measures show up in the tree but are not visible on the view. ...

Re: Why are windows sometimes placed upside down and back to front

I propose we change the thread title to "Why are windows sometimes placed upside down and back to front". As long as forum can still still track the thread. At least it would allow me to remove the type from my original version.

Re: Why are windows sometimes placed upside down and back to front

My original wall was based on a simple orthagonal dwire in the xy plane with aligned with the x and y axes. As such I would expect all the face normal vectors of the wall to have the simple normalised formats 1,0,0, 0,1,0 or 0,0,1. Hovever what I see when things go wrong are working planes with rota...

Re: Why are windows sometimes placed upside down and back to front

The problem seems related to the position of the Dwire relative to the global origin. If I move the "Ground level wire" so that the global origin is inside it, the problem no longer occurs. Well, I never would thought of that. I always set the global origin outside the building or to the ...

Re: Why are windows sometimes placed upside down and back to front

I am losing the will to live on this one. Can someone point me a python snippet that shows me how to get at the data from the original dwire. i.e. the ordered points list and any other info it may contain?

Thanks Roger

Re: Why are windows sometimes placed upside down and back to front

Just noticed that the process I used to cut out the test example has somehow resulted in the wire being converted into a featurePython object. In the original file it was a Part::PartFeature. I have attached a new version which preserves the original object type.

Re: Why are windows sometimes placed upside down and back to front

Hi Paul, Sorry about the lack of clarity. I have attached a couple of screenshots to illustrate. Screenshot from 2019-12-01 12-30-55.png The screen capture appears to have lost the placement cursor. This shows at the bottom left of the window placement rectangle, as expected Screenshot from 2019-12-...
