I find that if I set the start height 1mm below the rim of the pocket, it seems to work OK. (0.8mm will not work for some reason, even though all points on the rim seem to be at the same height.) Hopefully this is will work in the original model.

GeneFC I can see the errors you notified me of, will attempt to fix (no idea how to begin at this stage) and post a new file if that does not help. Thanks for your help

OK, I see the errors with BOPChecks activated. Will try to find out how to fix.

That's strange, I get 0 invalid shapes for each object, in both 0.17 and 0.18. It was created in FreeCAD, starting from imported point cloud, although I moved the final objects to a new document to simplify the question.

3D view batch updates

I have a script which hides/shows items, changes the view direction, and invokes the 'ViewFit' message in succession.
Works ok but the display flickers badly as FC seems to update the display after each command. Can I pause the rendering, or do a set of commands as a batch before updating the display?
