Re: Alternatives to FreeCAD

If you have read my post, I indeed mentioned that I expect the standard obstacle salvos from the CREW(here on your name to stick!). ...and lets not forget the typical butt hurt juvenile reBUTTals that accomplish NOTHING! And what do you expect when you basically tell us that the software is crap, t...

Re: Sheet Metal: Not unfolding

Hello,

Welcome.

Please post help requests in the "Help on using FreeCAD" forum, not in Open discussion. You may have been asking about the why it didn't unfold, but this is still a help request.

Re: ninja for building freecad - full compile in 9 minutes.

Thanks for the info about ninja, interesting. I always found "-j" helped a lot. Of course by '-j' I mean something like "-j4" for a 4 core cpu. -j$(nproc) I believe is the command to get the number of processing units available. For me compiling FC without it takes an hour, and with -j4 takes 15 min...

Re: Part/Draft constraint equivalents

You have to think of Draft 2D geometry tools as like a drawing board. It's a little like drafting in AutoCAD (or LibreCAD), if you've used it. I admit that it's been ages since I've worked that way, I seldom use Draft geometry tools (I was around when Draft was the only way to create 2D geometry, Sk...

Re: Cutting/Slicing a Loft body

Masker Sketch-mid and Masker Sketch-Rear are shot to hell. I can't edit them, and the Tasks panel gets stuck. I have no choice then but to close FreeCAD. ping Hey abdullah, when you get a minute, could you download LightWorx's last file, then edit either of the two sketches I mentioned. It's complet...

Re: Cutting/Slicing a Loft body

You ignored most of what I wrote... When I make an additive loft with the corrected cross-section sketches and look at it on the right side, you can see that the rear curve (to the right in the screenshot) is pretty spot on, only in the area circled in red to the left does the shape stray from the p...

Re: Can't see sketch when I press "Edit Sketch"

Hello j4cob, Welcome here. BTW: Your model looks as if you could have done much more directly in PartDesign, where you started. More specifically: PS: I'm also curious as to if I'm adding the mounting holes correctly (i.e. by creating cylinders and using the boolean cut operator. It's a valid method...

Re: creating a 3 D part from a silhouette

There's a macro that may help, Macro_Texture but I never tried it. The recommended way to install it is from the addon manager.

Why do you say PartDesign is broken? That was the statement of another user.
Come on, man. that was sarcasm.

Again this cheap propaganda. Do you realise what sort of people you're talking to ? Yeah, right now I'm talking to an a-hole. BTW, hot shot: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/assembly assembly noun as·sem·bly | \ ə-ˈsem-blē \ 6. the fitting together of manufactured parts into a complete ...
