Generate a Saw file to cut the timber. Still a long way to go.
Please, please post the source code, we'd love to see it!

Re: Roof trusses

Hi, I wrote a python script to draw this. Just extrude from polygon. Total 1290 objects. Is there someone else work in this area? Like to chat. I'm also very interested in this work, and seeing your source code. This looks fantastic. I've been working on a timber framing workbench here . It's absol...

Re: Coin/Pivy issue on Py3 / Qt5 build

I'm referring to the fc_build / fc_source variable definitions laid out in the readme file on your gitlab repo under the 'run image' section. It indicated fc_source and fc_build needed to be defined before running the image, then it appears they're also defined in the commandline switches when load...

Re: Coin/Pivy issue on Py3 / Qt5 build

I have recently fixed a few issues with the docker image. If you pull it again, your issue may have been fixed. Failing that, if you explain what env vars you're having difficulty with, I might be able to help. I was trying to work past compilation issues, which I'm slowly sorting out. In any case,...

Re: Coin/Pivy issue on Py3 / Qt5 build

At the moment, I can't get the docker image to pick up the environment variables. Will maybe give an Ubuntu VM a try, since it works for NormandC. I have recently fixed a few issues with the docker image. If you pull it again, your issue may have been fixed. Failing that, if you explain what env va...

Re: A docker container for building and running FreeCAD

Alrighty, I have now resolved the webkit missing issue, and the lack of doxygen. If you pull the docker image again, it should now only be missing the FEM module, and that's the only issue I'm familiar with.

Re: A docker container for building and running FreeCAD

Hi David, Thanks for setting up this docker image, I was trying to set up my own build environment and getting stuck on a couple of things. Now that you've done the hard work, I'll take advantage of it - and use it as an opportunity to learn docker. Hello Craig, that's great to hear it's working fo...

Re: Recommendations for speeding up development

https://github.com/furti/FreeCAD-Lithophane/blob/master/lithophane_image.py this is a example if setting up the object as i need for testing. That's a clever way of doing it. It's a shame about the not reloading the deps, though. Someone's probably got that all figured out. I'm too lazy to care, tb...

Re: Recommendations for speeding up development

That's about how you do it. I'm not even that efficient... You could probably write a lambda function in the console to do that, I guess.. ? I was also considering that. I noticed that (perhaps due to a screwup on my module organisation) I need to run the method on each of the submodules, individua...

Recommendations for speeding up development

Hello, I've recently started coding a python only module/workbench, and I'm wondering how everyone else speeds up their Python for FreeCAD development. By that I mean reducing the time between you saving the changes on a python file, and actually running those changes within FreeCAD. My current stra...
