Re: nominating B-axis for post processor ?

... I have tried the rotation but always get A-axis output, but have perhaps not selected the paths correctly. If all else fails I can reconfigure the machine to make longest axis X. Hmmm. Well, that indicates there might be a bug in the g-code command-creation part of the operation code. What oper...

Re: nominating B-axis for post processor ?

Welcome to the forum, Bmsaus4ax. Is there a way to nominate the physical 4th axis rotation axis. Post processing for me is currently around A-axis (rotation around X-axis), is it possible to output for B-Axis (rotation around Y-axis) ? ... My comment is an indirect solution. I suggest rotating your ...

Re: Discussion for detanglement of rotatioal code from existing ops

Afternoon. Thanks for the comments and perspective. I have updated the OP in this thread with takeaways and a set of pros and cons based on known possible integration methods. At this point, I think integration as a feature might be the best solution, but I am not declaring this the de-facto solutio...

This is a known issue related to a recent commit that has meanwhile been fixed:

Thanks for the info. I just started another build from source at commit `a50ae33`(revision 23115). When finished I will test again.

Import SVG failure [Fixed]

Afternoon fellow FreeCADians and FC devs. Most of my experience with FC is in the Path workbench, so I will just drop the problem here without submitting a specific fix - I am not familiar with the direction the Draft workbench is moving. The problem is that I am receiving an error upon attempt to i...

Re: Help: no dressup, no party.

what I had in mind was comparing the tangents of the two paths at the intersection point, and maybe making the threshold angle 45° or even 60°. Don't think it needs to be adjustable. The only concern is the runtime inpact calculating all those tangents. Afternoon Sir. Without having looked at the D...

Welcome to the forum, mn00n! You will find many helpful users here in the forum. ...Is this too complicated an undertaking for Path? I'd like to persevere if there are strategies to machine such a shape but lack the insight currently to know if this is feasible. ... As a newcomer to FreeCAD, I would...

Re: Creating inlays

Welcome back to the forum, JBraun. Your female part looks good. Do you have the FreeCAD file to share with the progress in the images? I am thinking: Make two copies (one to contain the male geometry, the other to trim the male geometry to thickness) of the base block containing the female, without ...

Re: Help: no dressup, no party.

I haven't tried this myself but could you just extend the arc on both ends by a tiny straight segment. Just enough so the dogbone dressup has G1 moves to work with? Just a question, no more: Have we thought to modify the Dogbone dressup to handle arcs (G2, G3)? Do we know if anyone (devs) has done ...
