Re: Argument PredefinedType not found on IfcRoot
thanks for your reply vocx. I downloaded FC 0.19 but now I have a different error message: "Unable to find find keyword in schema" Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 4, in <module> File "C:\Users\wilso\Desktop\FreeCAD_0.19.18234_x64_LP_12.1.2_PY3QT5-Win...

Argument PredefinedType not found on IfcRoot
Hi there!! I installed FreeCAD on a new computer and I'm trying to export a file to IFC (the Mies Pavillion, that yorik teaches in his youtube channel). I select the site, go to file, export and then I get this message whenever I try to export it: "Argument PredefinedType not found on IfcRoot&q...

Re: BIM Workbench
Note that only the tool buttons that appears in the FreeCAD interface have been separated. They still produce a same object for both windows and doors. However, they are easily distinguished (their IfcType property is either Door or Window), so it's easy to separate them anywhere it's needed, or to...

Re: BIM Workbench
I really like that now you have doors and windows as separated objects, as well as columns, slabs and beams. In some other BIM softwares, you do have that, but sometimes you can't make a quantity schedule that contains these different objects together, which means that you would have, for instance, ...

Re: Missing lines with DXF import
I didn't know about the Legacy Python Importer, if that solved the problem that's the most important. In alternative, if you open your DXF with Draftsight, copy all objects to a new DXF file and import again, even with the Legacy Python Importer checked it seems to work. Attached you'll find the new...

Re: Missing lines with DXF import
Could you share your dxf file so I could try it out and see if I can come with a solution for you? *EDIT*: Also, one thing that sometimes solves problems with dxf is to select and copy to clipboard all objects from your dxf file, create a new dwg/dxf, paste all objects in this new file and save it w...

Re: Create Toposurface from DXF
Thanks once again Yorik, I very much appreciate this :) Cadgiru, thanks for the links, I'll definitely check them and study. I believe you're right, this kind of thing can be done with a mesh from Blender but I'm under the impression that you can't edit this mesh in FreeCAD in order to do cut/fill o...

Re: Create Toposurface from DXF
Thanks Yorik! Unfortunetly, I tried your method and but the python delivers an error message File "<input>", line 3 wires = DraftGeomUtils.findWires(edges) ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax I imagine it's something easy to fix but I don't know python. I'll try to figure it out but if someone k...

Re: Create Toposurface from DXF
You may want to have a look at the Civil engineering topic: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=22277. Thanks chrisb. I'll take a closer look at it. From what I read on several posts and watched on youtube videos, there's already options when it comes to creating a toposurface base...

Create Toposurface from DXF
Hi! So I have this topographical survey on dwg. I saved it on dxf file and imported into FreeCAD. Now I want to create a toposurface based on it. The contours have a spacing of 50cm between them. Does anyone know how to do it? Also, after generating the toposurface, is it possible to have a second o...
