Build issue of 0.18.4 with boost-1.73.0

Hello, today FreeCAD-0.18.4 failed with an error, which looks like it's related to boost-1.73.0 which has lately been released on Gentoo. FAILED: src/Mod/Path/App/CMakeFiles/Path.dir/Area.cpp.o /usr/bin/mpicxx -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DHAVE_LIMITS_H -DPath_EXPORTS -DQT_CORE_LIB -DQT_NO_DEBUG -DQT_XML_LIB -D...

Re: gentoo: hdf5[mpi] is blocking flann-1.9.1-r2

Hi stefano1, you need to enable mpi USE flag on flann too, and most likely on other packages like netcdf too, which come in as direct or indirect dependencies for freecad and/or reverse dependencies of hdf5. Enabling or disabling MPI on Gentoo is not trivial, it's not a USE flag you can easily choos...

Re: another compilation error on gentoo

Hi oxensepp, most people here in the forum don't know much about Gentoo's internal workings and may not be able to help you much with the issue, regarding the messages you posted. Do you have a complete build log available? If so, please post is at some pastebin and provide a link to it, so we can c...

Possible recurrence of a namespace std:: issue?

Starting today, I get an error FAILED: src/3rdParty/salomesmesh/CMakeFiles/MEFISTO2.dir/src/MEFISTO2/aptrte.cpp.o /usr/bin/mpicxx -DCSFDB -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DHAVE_LIMITS_H -DLIN -DMEFISTO2_EXPORTS -DOCC_CONVERT_SIGNALS -D_OCC64 -Dqh_QHpointer -DvtkDomainsChemistry_AUTOINIT="2(vtkDomainsChemistryOpenGL...

Re: Gentoo freecad-18.4 will not build

Which shiboken ebuild did you use? Last week it worked fine with the ebuild from ::raiagent overlay using the 5.14.0 version (haven't tried the 5.14.1 yet). It also worked a long time with the 5.11.1 version from my overlay, but I consider this obsolete and remove it soon in favor of the ::raiagent ...

Re: Ticket #4145 - build failure with assembly module enabled

This is a known issue. just put -assembly in your use flags and it builds fine. so does workaround 'solve' it ? ref: 4145 Yes, this will work, of course. I disabled the use flag for now, so it's no longer possible to try and build the assembly workbench on Gentoo. But it wasn't a known issue. I've ...

Re: Ticket #4145 - build failure with assembly module enabled

BTW, I can disable the option, or add a comment to the cmakefile fragment and prepare a PR if it's desired.

Re: build failure with assembly module enabled

... if interested in having a version with as much functionality enabled as possible. This makes no sense. The default CMake configuration already provides the most common and complete configuration. It makes sense on a Gentoo system, where users have the option to enable or disable specific featur...

Re: build failure with assembly module enabled

Ok, if it's kept as a reference I would say it must at least compile successfully ... No. Do not compile the Assembly workbench. It doesn't work. I don't understand why you try to compile it. It hasn't been updated or maintained by anybody in ages. You don't need to do anything with it. Unless you ...

Re: What is the deal with pivy?

Why aren't the full set up them included from upstream? Are included in the GitHub repo: https://github.com/FreeCAD/pivy/pull/46/commits/63a0d878b3e21b5f457ac85ab89973abb898ff86 Looked again into why the fake headers needs to be touched. I'm using the tarball from https://github.com/FreeCAD/pivy/re...
