I calculate some column's punch ratios. then i want to show values by color and colorbar like in FEM workbench. I read the code, but i can't understan...

Re: XC, opensource structural engineering FEM code

no GUI at all. Any input is done in Python. This is what we could use FreeCAD for. try the unit tests ... https://github.com/xcfem/xc/blob/master/install/xc_code_install.sh#L64-L69 or try the examples of ana ... https://github.com/anaiortega/XCmodels or very simple ones here https://github.com/xcfe...

Re: XC, opensource structural engineering FEM code

Thanks @bernd. finally i installed xc on ubuntu. I want to know:
1- Is there any GUI in progress for xc?
2- Is it better for start, to explore examples or may be a better way?
3- Is xc installable on windows machine? no at present, but possible for future?

thanks a lot.

I used your script for installation. it remove xc_basic that seems have been merged into xc repository. I run that script line by line and had been arrived ...

what happens if you just change the material from concrete to steel and export again?
It's still not connected. I also changed the I section to steel Box section, but still it's not connected in both structural and Arch layout.

Re: IFC files from structural engineering software CSI ETABS

Strange, in this file all objects (the wall, the slab and the columns) are connected the way I would expect it (as an structural engineer). I wonder why they where not connected in the example you posted earlier? this picture ... https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=32679#p272927 yes, ...

@ebrahim:

would it be possible to send a more simpler structural ifc from ETAB. May be just only one face and four columns (like a table), or even better one slab two columns and one wall.

cheers bernd

Re: Porting to python3

It seems it's not related to FreeCAD!! i must resolve that. thanks you so much. but in interactive python it works even with importing QtGui: [ebi@ebrahim-pc bin]$ ./python Python 3.6.7 | packaged by conda-forge | (default, Nov 21 2018, 02:32:25) [GCC 4.8.2 20140120 (Red Hat 4.8.2-15)] on linux Typ...
