Re: [Ticket #4614] Request for a separate Assy file format

Can you elaborate why? I don't see why one workbench would be different to the others. A true part file contains one part which can be assigned a material. An assembly file contains part files which may contain pieces of aluminum and some bolts which it becomes harder to assign an assembly file one...

Re: [Ticket #4614] Request for a separate Assy file format

I think this isnt about being malicious, but its about project management. I believe it is all about project management. If your tool environment demands different file extensions for parts and assemblies, you could simply coin your own. Just name all of your parts "something.part.fcad" a...

Re: Another approach to assembly solver (A2plus)

I wrote this workbench a while back but haven’t used FreeCAD since I finished building my house. I took a fast look at the part if this workbench that should find broken constraints. A2plus has been rewritten since I wrote this. The broken constraint finder is working on the one file I tried it on ...

Re: Another approach to assembly solver (A2plus)

and recomputation works fine. As couple of tests are already implemented to check the selection compatibility with every constraint, I am asking myself if it would be possible to implement such 'modifyer' in the WB? The Flow could be something like: - have the subelement label written in the constr...

I meant to add this link to my last post, old age you know.
https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/rele ... g/0.19_pre
I just down loaded, unzipped and ran FreeCAD_0.19.23141_Win-LPv12.1.6_vc14.x-x86-64.7z
It seems to run fine.

Re: Where is assembly

Like some others I worked in industry for 45 years. After downloading FreeCAD 19 to a directory you need to double click the FreeCAD.exe in the bin directory. On my machine I added a shortcut to the desk top to start it. There are there three types of assembly programs A2plus is most like the progr...

Here is another option. Instead of building all of your parts in one file build them in different files. In this instance I saved your parts to 3 different files then added them to an A2plus assembly file.

Re: a2plus: Constraints inconsistent. Cannot solve System.

Is this an issue with the "Part Design" Workbench, or A2plus? I'm using: Windows 10 FreeCad 19 Hi Johtie. When I opened your zipped assembly files both trees looked OK on my machine. Sometimes the sorting of the constraints get a little confused, this can usually be fixed by pressing the ...

You might try updating FreeCAD to Ver 19. It has not been released but programs run very different between 18 and 19.
You can download 0.19 from here:https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/rele ... g/0.19_pre
I hope this helps.
