Re: Selecting solids on interior of CompSolid
Thanks bernd. I just tried the clipping tool, but I'm afraid I still have the same problem (see attachment). As an aside, I'm not sure that the clipping tool is the best long term solution for this. The Selection Tools mod does seem to correctly list sub-objects in its context menu. Is it possible t...

Ticket #3932 - Selecting solids on interior of CompSolid
I have been having some trouble assigning materials to components of a CompSolid that are completely enclosed. I was following this tutorial , but unfortunately I do not get the same result when I select the interior face (my attempt attached). On 0.17 it just selects the outer solid again without c...

Re: Slab and steel column with steel plate
Thanks guys. Yes, just to be clear, I just used the default mesh for the purposes of this post, it was not intended to be my final mesh (!!) I was really just trying to establish why, despite assigning materials to all solids, some elements were apparently not getting material assignments, and wheth...

Re: Slab and steel column with steel plate
Sure, it's exactly the same issue as Zarda was having above. I have attached a sample file, which contains a single tread from a staircase. The model uses a CompSolid BooleanFragments + Compound Filter. The BooleanFragments contains tread and riser objects, the tread being assigned wood and the rise...

Re: Slab and steel column with steel plate
Could I clarify if this is a bug, and if so, if there has been progress on a fix? I'm currently running into this issue with a two-material model on 0.17.13541. The "add a material object with no reference shape" solution removes the errors (and should be fine for my purposes), but seems l...

Re: Indication that objects are hidden due to "Display mode body : Tip"
Hi gnathan87, welcome to the forum. This leads every now and then to confusion, but not really very often, because the DisplayModeBody property is hardly changed inadvertently. How did it happen in your model? Did you try to make a boolean operation? If so you may want to consider using one or more...

Indication that objects are hidden due to "Display mode body : Tip"
As a newbie, I just wasted a lot of time/got considerably frustrated trying to figure out why parts of a particular body, including sketches in edit mode, were not visible. Even after unhiding everything in the tree, the objects were still not being drawn, and it seemed very much like a bug. Until, ...
