Re: Ubuntu 19.10

... Warning to anyone who is new to Ubuntu 19.10 - removing python (2.7) is not possible without taking down the entire platform with it. I learned this the hard way... Why would you do that anyway, specially if you are a new user? "I'm brand new to Ubuntu, you know what makes total sense, remove P...

Re: Code review of merged Link3 branch

... so now would be the best time to think about such feature, before the feature freeze in preparation of the v0.19 release... You cannot expect a completely new feature like what you want to be included in 0.19. That's a very short time to develop and test. Take App::Link itself. It was finally m...

Re: pdf resolution

... I have read other posts with people saying they have files which are very large, so i'm not sure where i am going wrong with this. I would like an A4 landscape print of my screen view with good resolution if possible, don't mind if the file is a bit bulky. If you just want to share what you did...

Hi I have switched to Windows (again) and am trying to compile the latest development version. I am using the following tools and resources:

Did you read CompileOnWindows? It was recently re-written by a Windows user, so I suspect the information is up to date.

Re: add a new unit failed

works now for me I remembered this thread. Did you succeed in adding the unit? With 3500451a04 Werner added a unit. It seems he also added the corresponding property to src/App/Application.cpp , and src/App/PropertyUnits.h(.cpp) , in addition to src/Base/Unit.h(.cpp) . See How to add other properti...

Re: How can I add a bolt from Fasteners workbench in script?

Thank you for the advice. I post this question in the “Fastener Workbench" thread by @shaise, and hope the author can see it. https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11429&p=342226#p342226 Good luck with that. But wouldn't it make more sense to post directly to that developer's GitHub repo...

Wanted to check before filing a bug/request for enhancement; not sure which it is or even if it is... ... You don't have to wait for anything if it's a request. You can always make a request. Whether that is accepted or not is another matter. I don't quite understand what you mean, but in general, ...

...However, I could not find the script or code to add the bolt from "Fasteners workbench"....
The Fasteners Workbench is one of many external workbenches. Therefore, I would ask the developer of that workbench directly.

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

... I've looked through the wiki but haven't noticed any case where assembly is used for creation of further models (I mean anything other than just pure assemblies). I think this is the wrong approach. An Assembly workbench should just assemble objects that were previously created. It shouldn't be...
