Re: Sketch or datum plane alignment to tilted face

Dears, Thank you for taking your time to answer. See these threads for some discussion and examples I tinkered with... :) Actually those threads prompted me to finally change my workflow (ie. not attach sketches to faces). What you write later about need to adjust angle and placement is good if you ...

Sketch or datum plane alignment to tilted face

Hello, Request for guideline. Until now I have been attaching my sketches to features' faces. However, as my projects become more complicated I have been victimized by topological naming issue more and more. It's time for me to start building my models in the proper way - this means attaching sketch...

Re: Problem with techDraw

Hi, Holes on the drawing look circular to me. You have correct views directions and holes themselves are circular in sketch. I think the grey dot on circumference creates impression that hole is oblong. You can can turn it off with by clicking right mouse button on drawing view and then "toggle fram...

Re: QR code datamatix

Hello,

Thank you for those pointers. I will try the SVG import and extrusion route suggested by vocx.

I later will EDM it. With this method precision and size are relatively a non issue.

QR code datamatix

Hello, Just a general question. Is there simple (or at least convenient) way to attach QR code datamatrix to object's face and have it raised or pocketed? Perhaps something similar to ShapeString? I found this old thread in German forum, but I am not fluent enough to understand it. https://forum.fre...

Thank you again.

Your instruction works. Yes, it is tedious, but still less work than to start from scratch.

Re: model became uneditable

Hello, Thank you for checking it out. I tried to open that test file several times and I never got any notice in report view window. I checked the main file and axes and planes numbering mismatch is present in both: editable and non-editable groups, although not to the same extent. Mismatch in edita...

model became uneditable

Hello, I have been using FreeCad for some time now and this is the first time something like that happened. If you look at the attached file, you will see a simple model: sketch, pad, body and group (shape string as a bonus). When you try to change visibility on group and body it works as expected, ...

Re: Can't add Ball End Mill (and other requests...)

Hello, Thank you for replaying. I looked at your videos on YT, they explained quite a few things. I managed to create ball end mill following your advice. Nevertheless, I will still bother you for more info about milling of that cone. 1. What mill type should be used for cone milling? (actually I am...
