Re: Optics Workbench
"No. Only CSV export is supported. You have to convert to a special format yourself." -Sorry, I meant that can you use zemax dat files as source of the rays used in the tool? Or How accurate you can specify the source of the rays in the tool? Some source files contain 5million ormore rays...

Re: Optics Workbench
To be more precise: the Optics workbench is licensed by the LGPL V3.0 That said, it'd be much more fair to give any such modifications to the public to benefit from, even if they are meant to be used only privately. But it's not strictly required by the GPL. This is right. The (L)GPL should encourag...

Can this tool be used in commercial use ? Yes, but if you modify the workbench, you have to make the modifications...

Re: Optics Workbench
I think some kind of illumination plot would be nice, like the bottom graph, but extended to 2D. However, in this case, probably the way rays are made should be modified, and not in python, because it would need a lot more rays. I modified the 3D Plot feature to display only a 2D graph if coordinat...

Re: Curved Shapes Workbench
I have one concern, when I go to cut out physical parts I'm concerned I might need a little tolerance for them to fit together during assembly. Would it be hard to add a margin/tolerance parameter to the notch connector tool so it makes the cuts slightly larger than needed? This is not so easy. Wha...
