Re: Arrow Axis triade too small on HDPI 4 Monitor - How to fix?

The size as it's implemented in coin3d: https://github.com/coin3d/coin/blob/9b5385eb120930de3f0decaee5cef4aef9e3c788/src/rendering/SoRenderManager.cpp#L1180-L1187 I think this is "virtual pixels". That is, 3D view uses "dumb" scaling, taking unscaled scene and multiplying every coordinate by a facto...

Re: Arrow Axis triade too small on HDPI 4 Monitor - How to fix?

It looks like the axis cross is supposed to take 10% of the 3D view: const int pixelarea = int(float(this->axiscrossSize)/100.0f * std::min(view[0], view[1])); https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/blob/298c67787377a06aee01d76477ba696b1335307b/src/Gui/View3DInventorViewer.cpp#L3315-L3316 But for some r...

Re: What are the differences between FreeCAD BIM and BlenderBIM?

Maybe comparing IFC features provides a better justice than describing differences between parametric and direct modeling:

FreeCAD is parametric. Blender is not (and BlenderBIM does not change that).
I'd say FreeCAD tries to be parametric. It still lacks the 3D constraint solver.

Typography

Do we have anything close to typography in UI design ? That is, do we have a defined set of fonts and their sizes to be used consistently throughout the FreeCAD user interface? If not, I suggest to start gathering font sets in Figma: https://www.figma.com/file/QiSdiUf1vGO6KWdC3dIm6Z/FreeCAD?node-id=...

Re: Navigation Cube: text illegible

There are a number of preferences related to the navi cube. To my knowledge they can't be changed in the Preferences Editor yet. But there is an add-on for this: CubeMenu, that can be installed with the Std_AddonMgr command. Once installed you can access the add-on via the Mini-cube menu (click on ...

Re: Navigation Cube: text illegible

This looks like HiDPi related UI tweaks. Stuff that @vanuan was working on. pinged by pinger macro According to the master plan , here's what the fix would entail: determine the font (from the OS settings) scale the font to the value that is appropriate for the navigation cube make the navicube of ...

Re: Windows High DPI with different screen DPIs

Please read the master plan: https://wiki.freecadweb.org/HiDPI_support The flag AA_EnableHighDpiScaling should only be disabled after the part two is complete. That is, first we should make sure that we get the correct font metrics from the system and rescale all the widgets in units of font size. I...

Re: Icon size 0.18 and 0.19

Do you happen to have scaling enabled in the Windows display settings? 0.18 didn't support scaling
