Re: BUG: Center Line Style settings are ignored

PS: in general, for such small issues, should I post on forum first or go straight for a PR? Preferably post in the forum, too, so that more people are going to see what is going to be fixed. Most users don't follow the incoming PR list in GitHub, but may still have strong opinions, especially abou...

Re: Static analysis for FreeCAD cpp code?

I am not here to discuss. I used cpp-check and you find many possible error. you and the previous links says that they use static analysis tools .. but how can I see the errors if they used that? I doubt that you've seen any errors, but notes and warnings. Static code analysis tools always show a l...

Re: Assembly4 question

1) the initial problem comes from the FreeCAD internals, and there is nothing to do about it: object names cannot begin by numbers, and "-" is interpreted as "minus" by Python thus cannot be used in names The problem is more in that the FreeCAD Python interpreter sees the "...

Re: Techdraw ignores part placement when bodies in part are selected

Is there some way to set what is visible in the drawing independent from what is visible in the model? My actual use case for this is I want to turn off some bodies that are covering part of another body that I want to show in the drawing. Hi! One way to achieve this would be to learn to use Asm4 f...

Re: How to show only some bodies in a part in techdraw?

Confirmed. This is an error: the Placement of a Part ontainer isn't respected by TechDraw. This is independent from the second body. Hi, I'm not sure it's actually an error: If you do NOT select the Part, you won't get the placement property of the part, either. That seems to be the principle in Fr...

Re: Macro: Version 3: helper tools to improve TechDraw documents

This is really beautiful work, kudos to @edi for the great feature. I think this would be a very nice addition to the TD workbench, and I think from a technical standpoint that is completely possible. I fully agree with this, well done @edi! I imagine the plan would be for it to still exist as a so...

Re: Drawing templates

I created an Arch template using those instructions and a dev generalized it to the other sizes. See discussion here . It was merged in this PR . Unfortunately, I don't remember what donovaly's forum username is. Maybe aapo or uwestoehr? GitHub username "donovaly" == Forum username "...

Re: Techdraw View Direction Hard Crash

Be careful with these automatic on-the-fly-fixes! When loading a project file with valid Direction and XDirection values there might be a situation where it first reads one property which at this point is collinear to the other property. Hmm yes, didn't think of that! I marked the PR as draft, beca...

Re: Techdraw View Direction Hard Crash

The raised exception is handled nowhere within TechDraw and thus will be caught by GUIApplication::notify which prints the error message Unhandled unknown exception caught in GUIApplication::notify. Note, that because of that exception the pointer geometryObject is still dangling Ah, yes, I see. Th...

Re: Techdraw View Direction Hard Crash

Okay, I found an extra bug with this: If Direction and XDirection will be set colinear, the View projection will fail. Luckily, this won't cause a crash, but just an empty View. In any case, I wrote a bugfix for that, too, and it's available in this PR: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/4524 P...
