Re: Cutting outside a sketch with variable offsets

I have created youtube videos that show this very thing. There are several ways to achieve what you want but out of the box FeatureArea is your best choice or doing custom sketches / wires for the tool path. This is the forum link to check for the youtube video link https://forum.freecadweb.org/view...

Re: drawing (engraving) shapes

When you create the Job in path workbench make sure all the check mark boxes are checked for all of your 2D as well as all bodies.
The engraving tool seems to be functioning just fine with your file. I uploaded the file this screenshot was taken from.

Re: How to mill a simple cut out?

For an easy to use way of making tool path you can create wires from edges in the part workbench or create sketches of the tool path that compensate for your tool diameter. Then use the engrave tool to create a path from those selected edges. The engrave tool path does a great job at following an ed...

Re: How to mill a simple cut out?

The approach so far has not taken into account the square corners. This is a simple straight forward task here I used the same technique (minus the feature area) to do a simple single line tool path. I drew a constrained single line sketch in the middle of the 1/2" slot since we can use a 1/2" end m...

Check out this forum post and the youtube videos.. https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=41781. There are several ways to go about this and they are all straight forward and use the same concepts.

Re: Creating Lasercutting Paths

Path has no problem doing None Looped Edges, or just single lines. The PathWorkbench has a lot to offer but if you are use to the Commercial CAM packages you will have a learning curve to get past. I can't stress this enough but the Part or model is not the tooling path. Sometimes you need create fr...

Re: Complex pocketing?

This is not a complex part to pocket just a very tedious 2D tool path. Nothing about this part is 3D Surfacing what so ever. There are a lot of ways to do this job. There are a lot of things to consider. It is a pretty straight forward task. I have attached some amusing possible cuts with an 1/8 end...

Is this a bug? Macro works once then object has no attribute 'shape'

So I create a simple box sketch and I select one of the edges in the sketch that travels along the x axis. I then run this macro and get exactly what I expect a toolpath called my path. I select the opposite line going in the X direction and run the code and get an error saying the object now does n...

Re: Vertex positions for Gcode template

I selected a single point on this sketch and ran this code. I then selected another point and ran the code. I did all four corners of the sketch. This picture illustrates the results of running this code every time i selected a point. Is this the information you are looking for? Those G code command...

Re: Vertex positions for Gcode template

Check this info out maybe you can find your way. https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=41495 and https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=41877. I looked at your model but there is no code for me to see what your trying to do. You have no toolpaths in you file so I can't even fi...
