Re: What is this shadow on a pad?

Part_CheckGeometry is not kind with the 1st feature. This problem of coplanarity can come from many features upstream. In this case there isn't anything upstream, as it's the first sketch for the first operation, right? I simplified the part to just the first loft, attached below. There are two b-s...

Re: What is this shadow on a pad?

the 2nd sketch is already red it has a red bookmark (Dangers) the last one is red too, it also has a red bookmark (fatal danger) Hmmm. Mine has neither of those: ExtraPlane.jpg Which version of FreeCAD are you running? I'm on: OS: FreeBSD 13.2-RELEASE-p11 (XFCE/xfce) Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Ve...

Re: What is this shadow on a pad?

it's not complicated: if a sketch is red: he is angry, you must correct the fault it indicates, you must not leave him angry: anger is bad advice thus Sk-Btm is already red, so the entire chain that follows will be corrupted I understand what you're saying about if it's bad, the entire chain that f...

Re: What is this shadow on a pad?

@xemul Raising compression level to 9 only got it down to 1.18MB. However, getting rid of the stuff after the offending operation did.
So for completeness sake, I'm attaching that version.

Re: What is this shadow on a pad?

Followup: I tried moving the controlling point on the b-spline to where it was barely outside the straight-line extension from the origin of the b-spline as @papyblaise suggested, but that resulted in multiple solids. The point was originally 85.67 mm from the hz axis, about 1.5 mm inside the line (...

Re: What is this shadow on a pad?

Thanks all for the ideas; will poke around a bit and see what I find. The curves in the object are BSplines, but the point at which the shadow appears are a pad from the sketch (visible in the image) of a rectangle and a triangle. The triangle pad intersects the BSplines, however. @papyblaise thanks...

What is this shadow on a pad?

I have a sketch in an object which, when padded, seems to do the right thing, but the image displayed has what appears to be a shadow of the sketch plane displayed. What is this and how can I get rid of it? The support for the sketch is the original XY_Plane001. The plane is not present on any previ...

2. Call PartDesign_SubShapeBinder.
3. Drag the binder out of the Body.
4. Export the binder, either directly, or via the TD Workbench.
Thanks!

selective svg export

I have a model I originally was trying to 3d print in nylon, but the results of printing are not precise enough (totally flat, hard surface required), so I'm having to cut it with a CNC machine out of a machinable nylon. I'd like to avoid rebuilding the model in inkscape or similar, so I thought I w...

Re: Convex fillet on circle

This topic would be less confusing if you used the correct terminology. Your file already shows a *convex* fillet. Ugh. Red-face here. I would swear I looked at a profile in a more complex drawing and it was concave, but obviously I'm seeing things. And once you think it's one way, it's hard to see...
