Re: Assembly3 preview

Realthunder, how hard would it be to bake Zolko's direct placement with LCSs directly in A3? I'm considering making a workbench for it, but only if we have to. Hum ... I think that the AWS doesn't only bring the cool thing of direct LCS-to-LCS snapping, that would be good to have in other workbench...

a=FreeCAD.ActiveDocument.addObject("Part::FeaturePython","CubicCurve_4") yes, this solves the unique naming issue: linkName = self.linkNameInput.text() ... createdLink = activeDoc.getObject('Model').newObject( 'App::Link', linkName ) ... linkName = createdLink.Name ... constrName = PyFeaturePrefix ...

Re: assembly without solver

now i need to see if i can change the way link objects are inserted into the document, so that the file reference is a property of the link, not the identity of the link. this way, i can re-link the same file over and over, without having to save separate files with 1, 2, 3, 4 etc appended. this sh...

Re: assembly without solver

Wow, good stuff, thanx for testing and reporting. you mentioned saving and closing before succeeding at certain steps. i've been doing that and haven't been able to identify the pattern that works. this is an App::Link feature / limitation, nothing I can do about. What I understand is that since App...

Re: Part, PartDesign and Assemblies

Well, please hold back your enthusiasm, after the storm of silence following my initial proposal, I've still gone through with the idea, and you can now download some scripts from my GitHub account and try this out, and you can even have the luxury to read some explanations.

Re: assembly without solver

I'll post the latest scripts here tomorrow if it comes down to creating a test workbench to hold a few new python features to insert into the document, i would be glad to help. Hello, I uploaded my current scripts to my GitHub account: https://github.com/Zolko-123/FreeCAD_aws There is also an embry...

Re: assembly without solver

Problem and Questions: i just read through the entire thread, and i'm not clear on where to find the current/relevant pieces of the latest proposed system. you're right. Though it's still work in progress, it is somewhat usable for the adventurous, and some scripts and GUIs do work now. Unfortunate...

Re: Datum Plane orientation request

I just added that in commit this and this . I replaced the 2 files and tried to compile, both with the LinkStage3 and also from the main git repo, but it doesn't compile. EDIT: I replaced all 4 files, and now it compiles and the size of the LCS is now constant on the screen, exactly as it should. Y...
