I've tried to download V19 numerous times, won't open. Addon's don't work. Update software. How?
Where's the user help "forum". Not a developer, just a user.

Re: Another approach to assembly solver (A2plus)

Can't we simply re-use the A2+ constraints as they are now ... Yes, we can start this way and test how this goes. actually, I changed my mind: let's use the A2+ solver as-is, with all geometries, and let the user decide if/when to use datum objects. P.S: I have cloned your master branch. Wouldn't i...

Re: Another approach to assembly solver (A2plus)

The first thing, we should implement, is a constraint object. It is just needed to test all other things, as recoding the a2p_solversystem.py and co. Can't we simply re-use the A2+ constraints as they are now : A2p_constraint.png An Asm4 assembly has a group called "Constraints" and every constrain...

Re: Merging A2plus and Assembly4

The first thing, we should implement, is a constraint object. It is just needed to test all other things, as recoding the a2p_solversystem.py and co. If we can get one single constraint working, would be a big step. agreed. Before going into the details, there is a general question: should we allow...

Re: Another approach to assembly solver (A2plus)

Do I understand that correctly ? Yes you do. cool In this case, the solver could parse all the parts having this flag set, and consider all other parts (if any) as fixed. It could then run as it does in A2+. The most difficulties arise somewhere else. Asm4 is using links to part containers called "...

Re: Another approach to assembly solver (A2plus)

Compared to other numeric solvers the one of A2+ is not sensitive to redundant constraints and sometimes an additional constraint can stabilize computations. Hello kbwbe, I like your approach for the solver, and I was wondering: did you ever consider "porting" it to Asm4 ? Looking at the A2+ code, ...

Re: curated code-cad

FreeCad is a more traditional CAD package that supports python scripting, Both for modelling as well as controlling the FreeCAD GUI itself. Not only that it has a built-in OpenScad workbench as well as an external CadQuery workbench, making it the best in this list at interoperability. This is a us...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

What I would like to is to leave frames, cylinders and other "fixed" parts as they are and use Assembly 4 to design cranks, connecting rod, coupling rod, crosshead and piston as one mechanism. Followed by a second mechanism (again using Assembly 4) involving cranks and valve gear. Does this make se...

Re: Realthunders work

Now if someone has STRATEGIES in mind of how we can speed up the process, please fire away ;) This is not very honest, as it has been said over and over again since nearly a year: Now we have that version 0.19 is still formally "in development" when I think it is perfectly usable in production and ...
