I propose we change the thread title to "Why are windows sometimes placed upside down and back to front".
You should be able to do it editing your first post

Re: Wall Placement should be necessarily relative to walltrace placement?

That is how most FreeCAD objects work... But there are pretty complex things regarding placements in FreeCAD (ex. app parts), maybe what we need here is better documenting? Documentation is always good, my concern was to find a good way to solve all the problems we have with wall, its base and wind...

Re: Wall Placement should be necessarily relative to walltrace placement?

The starting point of Draft Wire is kind of 'origin' - draft a random DWire, it is not at (0,0,0); change the placement to (0,0,0), find the starting point fall at (0,0,0) Not always, if you edit the DWire with DraftEdit, you can move the first point, and it will not be any more coincident with the...

Re: Wall based on walltrace vs Wall with no base

Got it... now it's clear.
Yes, using expressions is a bit convoluted.
Isn't all this heavily subject to toponaming issue? (hope this will be tackled in next 0.20 development cycle)

Re: Wall Placement should be necessarily relative to walltrace placement?

No, you have misunderstood. The initial placement of the wall is ALWAYS 0,0,0. The placement of the sketch is not taken into account. Sorry, i probably didnt explain it right at the beginning. example: Sketch.Placement = Placement [Pos=(443.848,293.797,0), Yaw-Pitch-Roll=(0,0,0)] Wall.Placement = P...
