Re: Loft tool "Closed" option is having no effect

As further remarks, doing so : * Creates geometry errors * Generate warnings in report view about duplicate child * Prevent 'Ruled' to work : if checked you'll get a 'TopoDS : Shell' error Finally looks like a deeper issue as I first thought... How would you like me to proceed with this one? Would ...

Re: Loft tool "Closed" option is having no effect

Hi openBrain, Thanks for the models. It's good to see that someone else is seeing the same problem so it suggests that I'm not crazy (although others will disagree) Now that I know that the Loft utility in the Part workbench works, I can talk about that for this particular instance, even thoug...

Re: creating a drawing from a model

Hi kootzie, Firstly, you need to include all the FreeCAD version details so people can help you better. See: http://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2264 I'm trying to get my wheels on using FreeCad for architectural drawings so I just grab a random part that appears in the startup page ...

Loft tool "Closed" option is having no effect

I'm researching the Loft Tool for an upcoming video tutorial that I'm working on, and I'm wanting to demonstrate how the options work as well. I have never used the Loft tool's "Closed" option before because I haven't actually needed it in my work but want to let viewers know what it is su...

Re: section view and new version [solved]

I've seen that message in the past, but not lately. There was some work done on managing the svg files for hatches, so maybe the problem doesn't exist now? Thanks for letting me know your experience. Based on your feedback I decided to download the "latest" appimage as at 16-Jun-20, but u...

Re: section view and new version [solved]

I'm seeing the same (or similar) problem on Linux. It's strange but the problem seems to raise its ugly head for me when I modify the TechDraw workbench's settings then restart FreeCAD. Steps to reproduce: 1. rm -rf $HOME/.FreeCAD 2. Start FreeCAD 3. Create one or more section(s) through a part 4. S...

Re: Guidelines for videos and tutorials

I've seen a number of tutorial videos for other software packages where the tutor/demonstrator has a webcam image of themselves on the screen during the tutorial/demo. A lot of the time it just shows them looking at the screen and talking, but at other times they are looking straight into the webcam...

Re: TechDraw workbench introduction tutorial

Yes, I'm not asking you to fully adopt v0.19 at this point if you don't feel comfortable with it. I think just generally trying the new features is enough for you to notice how much it has improved. No worries. I will be giving it a go and while I may not switch over to 0.19 straight away, it does ...
